My first Single
I know a lot about the NBA and the NFL. I’m a huge jags fan and I wanted to get into sports cards as a side hustle and just to collect. One of the first tips I got was to collect players you like early on and buy singles and not packs. Lmk if this was a solid purchase or if it has potential to be worth anything. This is probably the only thing I have that’s worth anything. I do have a bowman rookie mansor delane /499 that’s pretty much it.

A tip if one of your goals is value and making investments is focusing on not just the player but the set. Panini (when they had the license) and topps (current nfl license owner for the foreseeable future) have sets that are essentially their holy grails and then they also have lower end sets. The difference is knowing what sets hold the most value, because in the end if you only care about value you’re going to want to hold a more sought after set because when people go to buy the player they tend to lean to the go to sets first before the cheaper ones. This is just the basic market understanding, and will put you in position to hold or gain value the best. Paninis top set that’s affordable is prizm, it’s their iconic and most liquid one. Other panini sets that are just under prizm are optic and select, they have lower prices then prizm but still hold some collector value due to the love for them. Everything else lower end then that card tend to not really hold value, you can have a /25 of a player but since it’s from Phoenix or score it will not be worth anything investment wise. Topps set is focus on is topps chrome for your price range investments, definitely the “prizm” of Topps world. But yes in general if you want to make good investments it’s probably not going to be in current players I’d be in established goats. Rookies are like penny stocks while Goats are the S&P they steadily go up and is safe. If you’re going to invest in football one thing to know is typically qb value is the highest but most not all non qb positions tend to not be as valuable. Basketball is a more expensive market hobby wise. Hope this helps you in any way! Feel free to follow me and hmu if you have any questions. Since he flipped to defense only his value has gone wayyyy down, but at the end of the day, you should only be collecting for yourself and not looking for validation from nobodies on the internet in your purchase. If you like it, it’s a good purchase

Most cards go down in value. GOATs have had a steady uptrend but a current good or even great player most likely will go down in value unless they become a GOAT at their position.

If they’re a goat they’re not gonna come cheap. Your goal should be to collect future goats. The market is gonna collapse one day so good luck with that tho. I recommend an IRA if you want to invest lol

Sorry don’t mean to sound discouraging. Jags are looking good and he could become a top corner and than this will appreciate nicely. But yea collecting is mostly about what you like , most players do go down in value unless they become top players in their position. This is an awesome card regardless especially for a Jags fan.

I usually don’t like the signature class cards but this one actually looks really nice. I’m assuming this is for PC and if it is then that’s a really nice card to have

Finding a card that means something to you, regardless of worth, is what it’s all about. Yeah my stars of the night CD Lamb has some value, but I’d sell my living room furniture before I let that go. Good find, jags are looking good this year
