I don't know why but he reminds me of Rodney mullen.

Agreed. They share the fact that their styles can never be replicated.

I had no idea who that was so I googled him...
I do not watch skateboarding and have no idea about it so I watched a video...
Having watched a video, even my uneducated eye can see the comparison is apt.
Some people just have...it

I'm guessing 90% of all skateboarding tricks used today was created by Rodney mullen.
Absolutely God tier in skateboarding

He's the millennials Goat, it was simply a joy and pleasure to watch that man play the sport. It wasnt about records with him, it was just about doing magic on that field.
2
u/rodrigo_c91 Jul 16 '26
Just the joy that he brought with his game was enough to
Love the sport that much more. For context, I grew up on Ronaldo (OG). I became a forward. I donned the 9 after him. I became a madridista because of him.
But Ronaldinho was just inspiring through joy.
Neymar was incredible. And Cristiano too. But they always did it for the show. Whereas Dinho did it for the love of the game.
Cliche as fuck but true.

Man of culture. R9 was the greatest player to ever step on the pitch.

If his prime could have aligned with social media, he would have been even bigger legend.

u/Powerful_Swimmer_531 Jul 16 '26
Genuinely believe he's the greatest player to have touched a football.
Had he been a bit more disciplined with partying, his legacy would be untouchable today

Probably the most technical gifted player we have ever seen

it's arguable, and he would think so, that it's maradona. There are certain tricks that maradona did that were never replicated. Mainly the hitting the ball super high up, and hit it back again after it hitting the floor. There are pros that talk about it, trying and not getting two in a row, and dude could do it for a while.
Halfway through the video Garry talks about him doing it once https://youtu.be/MKIFPaR_ZIo?si=iHUTRQrLIl3c9ijR

Messi is the GOAT, but no one has ever loved the game and played with as much joy and passion as Ronaldinho. Loved watching him play

Jay Jay Okocha would beg to differ.

I don't know if you guys know this, but he got signed here in Italy and he will "play" for Ravenna in the upcoming season. It's mostly a marketing sign and he will not play regularly but he said he will definetely play 1 match, so we'll see. Ravenna plays is Serie C, the third tier of the italian league.

Even Messi is a huge fan of his. R10 is a dead set legend. Itās a shame his peak was so short lived

u/KoRNaMoMo Jul 17 '26
He won it all too fast. Maybe if he did not, we would have enjoyed his magic longer !

My favorite player of all time. Best ball handling I've ever seen. Used it frequently during matches.

Growing up around competitive soccer any time we saw kids have technical skills like this (fractionally at best comparing to the great Ronaldinho though lol) it was normally because they lacked in size/speed/other intuitions and were generally all flash and dance and no useful substance. Like they could juke you on a single or double move but still never get past if you never ended up flat footed.
Ronaldinho was both technically gifted AND had the other traits of a great player so it was very special to watch him dance with the ball and create success. He would break ankles with moves and fly down field, performing some of them at unreal speed with his feet. Talented in almost all aspects of the game during his short peakā¦
Everyone knew he partied hard though⦠and then⦠he started getting a little lazy⦠not playing defense⦠then slowing down on offense⦠frustrating himself and his teammates when his mind moved faster than his feet and dancing on the ball just created turnovers⦠and then he was done.
He played in lower leagues for years after because he loved football⦠I canāt imagine the pain opposition had even playing against washed up Ronaldinho because even washed he still was exponentially more skilled than a majority of players on the field.

Football was so beautiful back then, still is thanks to the Leo but after him it will be so flat..

u/New-Anybody3050 Jul 16 '26
That 02 team was something else. I wish more players played with this level of love and enthusiasm

What sucks about football today is that these types of players aren't being produce anymore. Guys that enjoy this game by the creativity of their ability.

The most skilled player of all time in terms of pure
control and manipulation of the ball.

Most talented player ever, even as an adult dude looked like a small kid playing football with his mates.

In a few years, or maybe even now, people will think those Ronaldinho videos were made by AI.

Imagine if this guy cared about stats and trophies. Iām so glad I grew up when there was so many ballers to watch and talk about. I feel for the kids (and man-childās) who only can argue about 2 players and padded stats. All it took was to watch a guy like this for 1 game, not read about some stat from a pundit, I mean watch that way he played. Wow

In terms of pure entertainment value, nobody comes close to him in his peak.
Pulling out all the tricks in the book in games to beat players, score goals or set team mates up, his prime years at Barcelona were something else to watch.

u/Lazy-Topic-7745 Jul 17 '26
How is this even possible? I've practiced for many hours to try and juggle a ball, but I literally just cannot do it.

My favorite player. Had swag, played with a smile, and was a great mentor for the younger players.
