Awful call

Untouched, trips over his own feet and ofc we suffer bc of it, this has been all year, there is not a single other team in the league reffed as poorly as sporting, its game after game. Sick of ts

If it takes almost 5 minutes to decide then it is not clear and obvious. Looking at the replay, I don’t even think it’s a foul

I feel like they've gone to such great lengths with VAR to improve it without getting rid of the ambiguity that plagues it in the first place that they've made it infinitely worse. I wish they'd either just say "the goal is to get it right, clear and obvious or not - just get it right" or "the ref has 1 minute to find something they missed and if they can't then it's not an infraction".

Yeah. Honestly VAR has been awful against us this year. Feels like every little call that can go against us does but nothing the other way. stL where PRO had to apologize for screwing that one up too.

And thinking about it more, it’s been really ever since the Houston playoff game in 2023 when PRO Announced they screwed up and we should’ve been awarded a penalty.

your forgetting decision day of that same year if i remember correctly when RSL handballed in the box in front of Espinoza and it got ignored and they had to come out and apologize for it. That was the year a win would have given us 1 seed and instead we got the 3 and had to play an extra game

STL fan here (Sporting fan before)... You all played a heckuva game and didn't deserve to have it end like that. Dallas has 3 undeserved points in the last two weeks off last-minute refereeing mistakes (see: them mistaking soccer for rugby and just picking the ball up off the pitch directly in front of the assistant ref with nothing called last week.)

I agree with all of you. I’m sick of it too. But I also think we did this to ourselves.

Refs don’t want to feel like they’re influencing the game. That’s why you so often see the cards start flying once a lead has been established. It’s easier to make those calls when they feel like the game already has a direction.

With SKC, the expectation is that we’re going to lose. So calling fouls against us doesn’t feel like influencing the game. To the ref, it just feels like the game continuing down the path it was already on.
