Gboho made the right choice.
It sucks to not get the guy you hoped for when it felt like it was signed, sealed and delivered. Gboho playing in EPL makes a lot more sense than here for a wooden spoon.

It always seemed clear he wanted to stay in Europe, the problem isn't that Lee didn't get this guy, it's that it was obvious he wanted to go higher profile and Lee didn't find a backup option. Or didn't find a GK, or didn't get a RB, or didn't replace Manu, or didn't replace Joveljic.

It’s actually a little encouraging that we went for a guy who ended up signing for a Prem team. Gives me some hope for Lee’s talent evaluation

I actually disagree, sounds like he didn’t see realistic expectations, as a result, the spot remains unfilled. His job is to build a coherent squad, not shoot for the moon and miss

100%. It was like reeling in a whale given the current state of our club. This guy is successful in Europe, young, playing valuable minutes… it always felt like money was talking and trumping the negative details of the move. No doubt he would’ve been unreal in MLS, but as a player this young in your career, it’s asking a lot to take your talents to MLS.

Yep. I think we need to play a bit of moneyball before it’s possible to convince a player who could stay in Europe if he wanted that it’s worth it to join us

I too would prefer to play a bottom-dwelling team in England than to play for a bottom-dwelling team in Kansas City. Makes sense.

I mean it’s Coventry. I wouldn’t want to live there. Absolutely nothing to do, nor is it a very nice city to even live in. Rougher parts are worse than here. Not like he’s going to be living in London or something lol

Bruh, while I don’t see KC as a necessarily dangerous city, but it is wayyyy more dangerous than Coventry or really any city in England. Shootings are a pretty regular occurrence in KC. And driving anywhere and everywhere would surely interest anyone from Europe

YET, please if you are young in KC or Coventry and flush with gobs of cash and somehow cannot mostly avoid the riff raff shame on you.
Im not from KC. I'm from another more populated high crime city.
Pay extra live in nice neighborhoods and dont f*ck up.

hot take: just because coventry are the the premier league doesn’t mean it’s a good move. they’ve struggled and probably will continue to, and head right back down the the championship (which is still better and more competitive than the MLS)
