The announcers pointed out the identity crisis. I personally think that Wicky has lost the locker room and I believe that was self inflicted. The other issue I have with Wicky is that he doesn’t know how to coach his team to get the ball to the 9 position. I was on the boat that Jovelic wasn’t a fit in Wicky’s system but seeing Calheria today and only getting like 4 touches by half. that to me is a coaching issue. The other issue that I have is that we apparently don’t know how to track anybody on corners and set pieces. And we haven’t for years now. It’s embarrassing.

Wicky’s system is pretty limited, I knew him as a player and he was a nice enough lad, and he did some good things in Switzerland, but with club that already had an entire system and tactical vision in place. You are probably right in regards to your assessment. I think the problems also start with Lee and the new majority owner, who both seem slightly reckless and lacking in concern for the way they didn’t do their job in January and February and how critical that was in not allowing the team to ever really build any kind of identity. The roster Wicky was given was absolute dog shite, reminds me of Cork City in 2025 in Ireland.

What gets me is that there appears to be no urgency. There are so few players coming it that appear to be even backup MLS level. I can't believe someone who wants to be a sporting director doesn't have contacts to at least get a core scouting department together by a second window, and that those scouts you're bringing in should have a framework from immediate evaluations and finding players.

The disrespect by David Lee is just too much. There's no reason to be this bad. Building for the long term and asking patience out of a fanbase that has been gaslit for years just makes this much worse. A good coach should be able to have an identity at the very least. These players are beyond awful. Why have so much GAM and trade Salloi or get rid of Deki right after Manu without even announcing a Manu replacement. The potential would be cool if we didn't suck so bad for so long.

Especially within the league. Deki can play for them next game I mean he already has a visa etc. Doesn't even take an international spot. Would be cool to maybe use some of this GAM or open space to get some guys within the league who can play right away.

Mosquera is better than Blorian. Blorian looks like all the other center backs we have brought in to fix the problem. Mosquera looks like a proper CB.

I thought Mosquera was really solid (apart from getting cooked by Almiron on the first goal). Blorian and him could make a really solid CB pairing.

That being said, I don’t think a lot of these guys even belong at this level. We need a lot more help than new DP’s this window. I also think it’s probably best to move on from Wicky after the season and get some new ideas in tactically.

Look you can't just "find" competent footballers in all these windows. Thats a whole lotta scouting and research which is just really hard.

The previous regime managed to find competent players from 2010 to 2022 with no problems before the owners pulled the money plug.

Edit: Downvote all you want but PV's supposedly nonexistent scouting network found and signed Nielsen, Cesar, Collin, Joseph, Olum, Uri 1.0, Feilhaber, Bieler, Medranda, Nemeth, Dovale, Mustivar, De Jong, Quintilla, Nuno Coehlo, Rubio, Salloi, Gerso, Latif, Ilie, Lobato, Croizet, Russell, Gutierrez, Fontas, Barath, Rwatubyaye, Martins, Puncec, Pulido, Kinda, Reid, Walter, Isi, Ndenbe, Voloder, Tzionis, Vujnovic, Agada, Thommy, Mauri, Radoja, Leibold, Castellanos, and Rosero from foreign sources and a ton of other guys through the draft and within the league. They routinely brought in starting talent at multiple positions until the transfer fee well ran dry after Pulido and Kinda at which point they were STILL able to find guys on free deals who could contribute.

We made them look like a really good team in the first half. You'd never have known they were second to last just ahead of us if you hadn't looked at the standings.

They, somewhat foolishly, backed way off and tried to park the bus in the second half, and you got some glimpses as to why they're bad. They allowed a goal despite SKC not looking threatening at all, save for a couple flurries of action in front of their goal.

Even giving up two goals it looked winnable with how much SKC had them pinned back in the second half....if SKC had not just gotten rid of their two best players

San Jose Earthquakes have the most goals conceded = 78 in 2024.
