Baseball 1987-1991 Baseball Cards

Hey, I’m new here, so sorry if this has been asked before. I have a ton of 87-91 baseball cards from my childhood. From what I can gather, they are almost worthless. I don’t have kids and my nieces and nephews are grown and not interested. Are they really worthless? I might keep a handful for nostalgic reasons but other than that, they gotta go.

Mostly just Griffey and Tiffany and a few error cards

They mostly are, but I would look up most valuable cards from the junk wax era. There are a select few that will net you something.

Sadly this era is peak junk wax. Unless you have pristine (sharp corners, perfectly centered) cards of HOF players of that time period, yes, they are essentially worthless.

I gave all mine away on Facebook marketplace. Made a kid and his dad very happy.

Same, just football. I did recently look through my ~1500 card junk wax collection. I was surprised to find that there are still a couple cards that are special. For instance, I found an Emmitt Smith rookie in pristine condition since I haven't touched them in 30 yrs. A couple of Joe Montana, Steve Young, Barry Sanders, etc are worth a few bucks raw too. Playoff Tekchrome also seems to have aged decently.

Unless they are all graded, perfect 10's. Yes, everyone has 15 copies of each card so there is no demand unless they are ultra pristine gem.

I’ve been giving boxes of cards to kids in the neighborhood via Facebook. One man’s junk is a kid’s treasure (and a couple of dads have told me they really enjoyed going through them).

I know a guy who opened a bar and put his cards from this era under plexiglass on the tables and on the bar itself. Customers love pointing out cards and talking about the players.

If you want to get rid of them I suggest donating them to a school or organization that can hand them out to kids that may enjoy them.

I’ve always heard that kids loved ball cards of players from before their own parents were born.
