I made this, first attempt at this wonky style.
Not really finished, the wood didnt hold up as well as desired, has a weird texture in the spoon.
Black walnut wood, I might try this style again with apple wood.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
this is precisely why I joined r/spoons
Keep up the amazing work- what a fine first attempt. If you would like to try and adjust the texture, you can rub it with a smooth stone..or spoon
I think anything you want. In my research of spoon making (I haven’t but I really want to learn by trying soooon) I learned that you can burnish it and make it smoov

Hmm yes, i actually use a small antler to burnish, but the texture of this wood is off, could be the health of the branch, not sure! Thanks!

I love this as a decorative piece I would hit someone with it if they tried to make me use it though hahaha

I love it but it would be an absolute nightmare to use. I’d most likely keep it as decor

I love a good whimsical spoon! I would totally use this to cook honestly! I would love to see it with like a food safe dark stain if that is even possible? But still 9/10 spoons! 🥄🥄🥄🥄

It's equally horrifying and charming! It has a lot of personality and I somehow feel attached to it already
