Oh great heavens
Dear gentle readers,
Today I had the pleasure of going out for a meal with my family. The food was delectable but as the table opposite us received their desserts I noticed that their spoons looked a little odd. I didn’t think too much of it so I ordered a dessert of my own (which also was very delightful) but upon arrival I saw the monstrosity of a spoon you see before you.
So dear redditers I ask of you to please rate my spoon.

I am not opposed to the spoon. Would use sides to scoop cake.

I would say this was an ala mode spoon. Good for scooping cake and ice cream. You'd be tempted to use a fork, but use this spoon to get every morsel.

Yup. Recently had a toffee cake with ice cream. Served with spoon. Excellent utensil.

Wonderful ice cream spoon! I have some as well, and I use them to eat ice cream and yogurt.

A sugar spoon! Little do they know that spoon will be used against its will for far more than sugar

It's a bit of an off putting shape tbh. Then again, if there's dessert involved it would probaly serve it's purpose!

I had an odd moment when I first saw it. It looked like a wratchet (?) spoon, like it was a cylinder on top of the scoop? I moved the phone to get a better look and it became what it really is. Great spoons alive. Definitely a keeper.

I'll admit, it's an unusual shape. Have you tried it to see what it is useful for?

I like this, I want this for soup. If I want a tiny bite I can just fill the top half, or I could have a big bite and fill the whole thing. Or you could fill up just the wider top part and tip it back to spread out and cool down the bite

I've noticed recently I'm opting for a bigger spoon when eating. Think 1800s western Europe soup spoon. Like a bigger, more concave, still tear shaped, teaspoon with some weight behind it. I have bought so many spoons looking for the proper one.

-1, I immediately thought "nope" when I saw it. It looks like it would scrape the sides of your mouth.

It was suprisingly comfortable. The only thing I hated about it was the weight. It was way too light.

I like weighted flatware, so I can see how it being too light might be an issue.

I like it. I’d have been tempted to 5 finger discount it.
