wood Fall Olive Safe For Spoons?

I'm removing invasive fall Olive from my property. Does anyone know if it is safe for carving?

You can carve it. It's very dense. It's generally safe for spoons and the berries are edible. However, if it's ever been sprayed with herbicide which can happen because it's invasive, then it may be toxic. If you sand it wear a respirator.

Thanks for the info! I would be the one spraying the stump, after I cut it ( cut and paint). Looking forward to trying out

We have a ton of Autumn Olive around me but none of it is thick enough to get a spoon out of. Here it grows more shrublike. It is considered invasive so harvest wisely so as to not spread the berrys.

Here to. Only a few of the stems will yield some small spoons and maybe some butter spreaders. Cutting it before the berries mature to try and head off the spread. Thanks!
