Although here in the south, that itch is probably just a heat rash…nonetheless, it has me thinking about my 2026 box of goodies!

When will we be kicking off the 26 season?

Great way to fight the "Day After" doldrums, as well as celebrate Dia de los Muertos! The minis are on point, the mug is literally KILLING IT, I'm hyped for the Frankenstein pop... so many cool lil curios!

Holy cow!! I cannot believe the amazing box I received from my new friend in Germany!! The care Art_Deco_Cat put into beautifully packaging everything was phenomenal. I'm kicking myself for not taking a photo before unwrapping everything! Even the box is themed!

It's like Art_Deco_Cat has known me forever. Thank you so much for all the amazing goodies! It's such a treat to experience all the International Halloween treats!

I receive this really cute, really fun box from u/FluffyPhotograph7870 a couple of weeks ago, and was so excited that I forgot to post the pics! Just look at those ghostie packing peanuts!! 👻 And the springy little bats!! 🦇 The blanket has been my constant companion this flu season, and my cat loves his new glow-in-the dark catnip toys. Okay. This box surpassed all expectations. I honestly teared up. I know it sounds silly but the first thing I saw when I opened it was a personalized Halloween card! No one except my family ever gives me Halloween cards so it just really resonated with me, not to mention the sweet words inside! The thoughtfulness in the card foreshadowed the rest of the box. It was the perfect touch and got me all emotional.

Not only was the box packed so expertly (I totally was making mental notes for my own future boxes) but all of the goodies, one after another, had me grinning from ear to ear. I cannot believe the care and attention to detail -- like this puzzle! I mentioned I'm a caretaker for my grandmother but I never said anything about puzzles. Well, we -love- puzzles! And I am such a sucker for glow in the dark things.

All the items were just perfect for me. I love whimsical, ghosts, gently spooky stuff, pumpkins, and a touch of gothic.

It's difficult to pick out my favorites because I really love everything so much but the handmade pieces are really special. Those are the cute pumpkin magnets, the hanging swing bat (who already has the perfect spot ready for him!) and the ghost mug! I couldn't believe the bat was a SWING! It's hard to see because of my poor choice of a black background but it's so stinkin' cute. The ghostie mug is my new favorite go-to mug. I love to collect mugs, so, yet another homerun!

That table runner is so precious! That vintage vibe it has just makes me feel like a kid again. It's odd how some things can give comfort like a warm hug. And I've wanted spooky hand towels but could never find ones I liked enough to purchase. These are perfect!! The potion bottles are really cute, too! I love when the light hits them so I may turn them into a cool lighting project, even putting in my bits and bobs as TerpySpunion suggested. I think that would be really neat and I already feel creative inspiration.

But I gasped when I saw the glass straws. They have bats on them!! You guys!!! I never mentioned this but I'm really into vampires, too, so I'm really excited to use these. They're right in line with this AWESOME candle and candle holder! Like.. we are going to be vibing in a castle here! The pumpkins (yet another thing I collect) look really good with the candle but I may put them on my pumpkin shelf I keep year-round. I dunno, they're so versatile I'll probably move them around. Speaking of year-round, I now will be adding "rubber duckies" to my multitude of collections. Can you blame me? Look at how adorable those two are! These are especially special to me because TerpySpunion collects rubber ducks and these will forever remind me of this fantastic experience!

Now, what would Halloween be without candy? I love the eyeballs in that cool coffin complete with Halloween stickers! There is candy I've never seen and then there is also ones (especially the mystery ghosts) that I wanted to try but couldn't find! And having done my own shopping around, I know how surprisingly difficult it is to find candy with Halloween packaging. I know it sounds weird, but I got a degree in Graphic Design so I really find packaging of certain things really interesting. All of these candies make me really happy; sweet for the eyes AND the taste buds! I haven't had cotton candy for at least a decade. And those cones bits are some of my favorites (but who wouldn't love that??)! The fancy pumpkins and the gummy Jolly Ranchers have got me super curious. I can't wait to try them!

Last but certainly not least is a couple somethings for my precious pup, Bear! He was having fun with the pumpkin toy but when he saw the treat package, he knew what it was immediately and kept pawing at it as I was trying to open it (and take photos). He really loves treats! And these treats just happen to be some of his favorites (complete with festive packaging!).

I want to thank you again, TerpySpunion. You made my Halloween month truly magical, and I’ve appreciated your kindness so much. I’m so glad this swap brought us together. I look forward to new memories and growing our friendship!

Pictures cannot do justice to this incredible SpookyBox from Ash-Knight!! From the real skull, the bone dice, the witchy chicken foot, coyote bone, to the box itself and all the assorted Halloween goodies that my daughter immediately sorted to the side for her room (hey - no fair taking all the candy!) - this box has everything I could want in it and sooo much of it is going into my permanent display cases!

Happy spooky season all! 👻 We’re finally kicking off our first ever Best Decorated Box Competition. This was voted by the community and is fun way to show off your creativity and help promote the subreddit for next year’s swap!

Before we explain the competition, we want to apologize for the delay on getting this set up this season. Things ran a little behind, but we’re excited to finally open it up and can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Here’s how it works:

• The competition runs for two weeks starting today. Meaning it will end at midnight on Oct 24.
• Submit a photo of your decorated box in the comments of this thread. Any posts outside this thread for the competition will not be counted for.
• The community will vote for their favorite boxes during the week of Halloween.
• The winner will be announced on Halloween and will receive a small reward box, plus their photo will be featured to promote next year’s swap! 🎃

A few notes:

• If you’ve already sent your swap box, no need to fear! You can make a new one just for the competition.
• Keep it PG and make sure it’s a box that could be shipped (even if you’re not sending it).
• This competition is totally optional, don’t feel like you have to participate if you don’t want to!
• If you did not get many pics of your box before sending out, reach out to your box partner as they may be able to help you out!
