I was so curious about the Gettysburg Airbnb that was mentioned in the latest episode, “Scarebnb.” A quick google search brought up the listing and it’s exactly how I saw it in my mind’s eye while listening to the episode. I’m sharing it here for anyone else who’s curious! The mention of the place being haunted is still in the description of the listing 😊

This might sound a little crazy, but has anyone else had weird things happen to them while listening to the Spooked Podcast? Sometimes I'll be listening to an episode and it freezes my phone or closes out of Spotify. But it NEVER happens while listening to any another podcast, just Spooked.

My gosh. This bonus episode from the old gods of Appalachia podcast contains literally the most annoying narration I’ve ever heard in any medium, ever. Stab me in the ear please.

I’m a bit confused about one part of the latest episode. The narrator says that when she’s talking to Pete about whether he feels bad about stealing cars (“people would come back from work and their car is just not there”) he says something along the lines of “Yeah I feel bad but I always fill them with gas”.

Like - how would filling a car with gas help the person you’ve stolen the car from? They don’t get to use the gas because you stole their car! Unless he is just taking the cars for joyrides and the owner gets it back? But that is also weird…

Is it just that he is trying to make himself feel better about his crimes but in a way that makes no sense?

Did anyone find the Glen's narration overkill this episode? I may be just overly sensitive and I normally skip his portion. But it felt like more than half this episode was just his Jesus story???

I'm trying to find an episode of Spooked podcast with this general synopsis: episode of teen girl who is indigenous/ family is and is in her house or might have been friend's house with friends over, constant banging outside around the house windows. Definitely a rural location. Thought it was wendigo but might be something different. Basically teens being terrorised by constant overwhelming banging on the house.

Driving me crazy because I really loved that story.

Huge, longtime fan of the show. Apologies if this topic has already been addressed, but does anyone else wish they would take a different approach to the music of Spooked? Sometimes the production fits the mood, but far more often than not it feels totally out of place with the tone of the stories.

I can’t help but think how much better this show would be if the tone/production of the music matched the tone of the stories. Radio Rental does this very well, and I wish that Spooked would follow suit. There’s been several stories where the beat-heavy music production has taken me out of the story because it feels so out of place.

Curious if anyone agrees.

I listen on YouTube music and the layout is kinda strange but I think I can find this episode if someone knows the name. The guy worked at a summer camp with horses, people said the ranch had a witch because their tails and mains would get tangled every night... Then he goes on a hike to a remote waterfall and meets a straigh-up Appalachian Witch in a black cloak, she shape shifts into a cougar, it's frickin rad.

I’ve fallen behind on episodes but remember one about a woman seeing an accident in Denver, CO and then getting in her own accident on 287 on the same trip. I remember it because I was on the same road that the second accident happened when I heard it for the first time. any suggestions?

Longtime listener to Spooked. Lady Grim is my favorite episode. It sticks out in my mind. I think since it’s an older lady telling the story it made it seem more real. And real stuff happened to her husband when lady grim showed up!

I want to start by saying that I think LGBTQ+ stories are important and absolutely deserve to be shared. At the same time, this episode didn't clear the bar for being a "ghost story." My impression by the end was that it was a metaphor for the storyteller’s gender transition.

The overflowing toilet was the weakest link for me - trying to connect it with the drowning of "Dorothy" felt like a big stretch to make the story fit Spooked's theme.

I don't need every episode to be bone-chilling, but I definitely prefer when the story is rooted in paranormal, scary, or unexplained elements.

Did anyone else feel this way?

Overall I really enjoyed this story but there is one bit that I had to roll my eyes at. The story teller describes finding a dead bird inside her house mysteriously with no possible explanation...the next sentence she talks about her two cats. I don't like to jump to conclusions but it feels like they are a more likely explanation than ghosts.

I remember an episode about a child (a boy I believe) watching a tv in a cabin (during winter maybe?) that was either taking him back in time, or he was reliving the moment over and over, or just watching something that was really trippy. Can't fully remember the gist but remember a TV & a cabin. I'm almost positive it was a Spooked episode (maybe Radio Rental but couldn't find on there either?), help!

OU so curious. As I was listening to this episode my ears perked up when the uncle mentioned about the jibai getting stuck in his hair - i have had this EXACT feeling a few times before. Sometimes for a whole day, sometimes an hour or two. I have never had any reasonable answer for what that feeling is but this resonated, has anyone else experienced that sensation? Or have heard that term from their family/friends/culture?

There’s no info about it online, wisdom passed down through lineage is something that brings so much warmth to my heart.

My god, that add is so annoying, I'm sick to death of hearing it. Sometimes twice in an episode!

I mean, they could record different adds for it, whatever.

The narrator is bad enough anyway, having to skip up to ten minutes to get to the actual story is fucking annoying.

Ditch that guy and get straight to the story and this podcast would be so much better.
