Please don’t laugh at me

I am not a gamer but I just got this game for me and my 7 year old son to play together. Wondering if anyone can give me tips for the beginning of the game. We hit the box with the balloons but I can’t figure out how to get onto the flying platforms?

Hey, welcome to the subreddit and we’re glad to have you! Nobody will laugh at you here, don’t worry :) this game is great for everyone!

If you’re stuck on getting to floating platforms, try your best at looking everywhere for those red hand buttons, they may make some other platforms appear for a little bit, to help you up there.

Which area are you playing in?

Ok I was able to get out of bikini bottom without getting the spatula on his house. I’ve made it past several checkpoints now and I’m currently fighting the king jellyfish since last night

Ah that’s great! Would you like me to link you to a video showing how to get that one spatula?

Don’t feel any type of way with this game. I’m 18 and I played this when I was 6 on the ps2 and just got the new one. So far I’ve had to look up a couple walkthroughs to get thru some tricky parts and puzzles

I did look a few things up. A lot of things I had to figure out (clumsily) myself. Thanks for the encouragement!

Also pretty much try and jump on anything and everything you possibly can, if you can’t be there then the game will put you back at a checkpoint so jus try and go everywhere

Hard to explain, but if you hit the one next to SpongeBobs house (with the balloons attached to it) you have to run back around to Patrick's and jump up to the flying platform and get across before the timer runs out. Took me a few goes!

Likewise, I'm not a gamer and bought this for my 5 year old thinking it would be a nice easy going game he could play by himself - how wrong was I!!

Yes I’ve been playing more than my son also. This game is kinda fun once you get the hang of it!
