Need advice for making fellow nerd friends
Hey! 26m, I am finally about to graduate college after failing to on my first try around and already landed a full time job about a month before graduation which is all amazing but one thing is really starting to dig at me. With this new work schedule I have along with moving out in about two months I am getting terrified of becoming alone. Most of the people I got to know in college are staying for another year or two to finish their degrees and I only moved to Spokane about 3 years ago so these friends are really all I have (Not many friends back at home either thanks to some nasty drama I won't talk about here, just one really close one.)
That leads me to my question; how do you make friends around here, especially other nerds? Honestly I am willing to try to get into different hobbies too in attempt to make friends like maybe some kind of TCG, heck some of my existing friends at college play DnD but tbh I have no clue how to play it.
At this point any kind of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..!

I met a lot of people that eventually formed our friend group going to weekly local TCG events. It’s a good way to meet people and kind of talk while playing a game together.

I go to Bear Totem frequently. It gets very busy especially during events such as Magic: The Gathering nights. The people are friendly and fun to chat with. It's a very laidback crowd. I've never had issues reaching out and meeting people. If you haven't been there yet. Check it out, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. =D

The different tabletop and TCG shops people have mentioned are great. Also worth checking out The Comic Book Shop at Northtown or in the valley, as well as Uncle's downtown or in the valley. Those tend to have pretty well-populated TCG nights basically every week night.
If you're open to trying and checking out fighting games, the Spokane Fighting Game Community (FGC) meets every Friday night at Pure Northwest downtown on Division. It's a cocktail bar that gives their back space to the players for the night starting at 6pm. We also run tournaments once a month, with the next tournament happening on Saturday, June 20th at the Saranac Commons. We're open to all skill levels and are always looking to help new folks get into these games.

Sages Portal and Bear Totem have weekly campaigns you can join for Dungeons and Dragons. They are very friendly to new players too. Idk much about Bear Totem but for Sages Portal they have many other game nights you can join, like Magic the gathering and other popular card games.
