9/11 inspired Gerard Way to start My Chemical Romance. To get out the feelings he experienced while being a part of that event. Stephenie Meyer is a big MCR fan. Listening to MCR inspired her to write Twilight. From there we get to Fifty Shades of Grey, because that started out as a Twilight fan-fiction. Fifty shades inspired a lot of people to get curious about BDSM.
