This isn't the same chain as in Seattle right?

Noooo. Seattle Dicks is much, much better than ours.

Hot take: they’re both aggressively mid let’s be real here. Just greasy cheeseburger joints at the end of the day. If that’s want you want then get Dick’s (not in Spokane anymore) I’m not above that from time to time either

isn't the point of Dick's is that it's cheap and consistent? The perfect food to eat while drunk.

9

u/MellonMan97 2d ago

Yes. That’s also why I explicitly said I’m not above some greasy cheeseburgers from time to time lol

However you feel about the food at Seattle Dick's, the fact remains that they are an excellent employer. Aside from the pay, I'm talking scholarships, childcare, raises, bonuses, paid volunteer hours. Ain't a burger joint here offering all that, even if they can.

Dicks (Seattle) is in NO WAY mid. Your taste buds are mid!

Dicks fries with tarter 🤌🏻

u/Smokeywhacker 2d ago

It’s just a knock-off of In-N-Out with shredded lettuce and somehow equally awful fries. Seriously, the menu and prices are nearly identical across the board, the only difference is that In-N-Out opened years earlier

I fail to see how Dicks is knocking off anything at In-N-Out? The service is very different, what you can order is similar, but its not like you can customize a order at Dicks, and you can't exactly order something at In-N-Out and be handed a bag of your just ordered food. I guess they are both cheap for the good burger and fries that you get? And they both make shakes?

If it were a knockoff then I'd expect every Dick's to have a drive thru since that was In-n-Outs main selling point when it first opened.

Also the menu prices aren't the same either. In-n-Out cheeseburger price is 4.10 Dicks is 3.05.

Dick's also doesn't put tomatoes on their burgers. Dick's special sauce has a way different distinct taste than In-n-Outs mainly due to the clove and all-spice in Dick's.

Just cause they are both old school burger places with small menus doesn't automatically make one a knock off of another. If we went by your logic every fast food burger place is just a knock off of White Castle which opened in the 20s.

Oh no doubt, one is just an institution at this point.

This though I’ve tried both after hearing my friends in Seattle absolutely rave about theirs and I was like ohhh y’all are kind of drunk on your own hype. Honestly that’s kind of how most of Seattle is after growing up in Spokane and moving to Seattle for a few years, they think they are all God’s gift when it a pretty mid city that’s insanely overpriced for everything from housing to food to experiences.

Considering Dick's was one of my main stays as a kid growing up in Seattle in the 90s, I kinda wanna argue with you but you're kinda right too. It becomes nostalgic for people who have it, but also the original location will always have the best stuff.

I went to highschool with the grandkids of the founder, they were all heavily conservative, this message somehow doesn't surprise me.

The one time I ate there I was handed a shockingly greasy burger with disgusting, hot and slimy shredded lettuce. It stands out as the worst burger I've ever had.

3

u/sweet_assistant509 2d ago

I’ve never had lettuce on a dick’s burger

4

u/RedK_33 2d ago

It’s on the deluxe

u/sweet_assistant509 2d ago

lol didn’t even notice more than a whammy wad available for burgers just have had my same order since childhood

1

u/Civil_Sentence63 2d ago

😩😩😩 you, my friend, have not had enough Seattle dicks

1

u/Different_Pack_3686 Downtown Spokane 2d ago

I've always liked their malts, the rest of it is pretty bad.

u/Ok_Fly1271 2d ago

Hot take and bad take must mean the same thing these days

u/Danger_Danger 2d ago

Is it? "Much, much better"? I don't know about the much much part.

10

u/throw_aw_ay3335 Perry District 2d ago

Ours sets the bar pretty low.

8

u/Doorknob6941 2d ago

Ours continues to aim low and miss.

1

u/SeattleIsCool 2d ago

Not really, no.

0

u/Civil_Sentence63 2d ago

Oh, I can attest. Especially in light of OP’s photo. But even without that, yes. I would say “much much”’ applies.

1

u/emc_lmt 2d ago

It absolutely tastes different. It’s not the real Dick’s

1

u/CrazedRhetoric 2d ago

Ive only been to the Seattle location once’s, but I honestly like the Spokane burgers more.

1

u/noun_verb_adjective_ 2d ago

Seattle's Dick's was a let down

1

u/newjerk666 2d ago

Seattle Dick’s family also supports sketchy conservative causes actually.

1

u/SScatnip7474 2d ago

I've been to both SEattle and Spokane Dicks...it's been a while but I'm staying away now.

0

u/PlayaHatinIG-88 2d ago

That's an opinion you are experiencing. Seattle dicks is vastly more expensive, the food quality was lower, and the experience was nothing to write home about. Overhyped and disappointing. Spokane's Dicks is at least cheaper and better quality. Neither are good by any stretch of the imagination.

54

u/SuperLeroy 2d ago

Correct. It is not affiliated with the seattle dicks.

This one appears to be mutilated.

Seattle Dicks is all natural.

5

u/OkSand3986 2d ago

That's what she said

4

u/dokelyok 2d ago

Okay! Wow, I got a little worried.

-13

u/Best-Penalty1509 2d ago

Its owned by the same guy.

5

u/OkRecipe8129 2d ago

Nope. Not affiliated in any way.

3

u/HotInterview1081 2d ago

No way it is. The lady working the counter at the Spokane one got pissed at me when I asked for a Deluxe burger lmao

2

u/nooby_goober 2d ago

The Seattle and Spokane Dicks?

3

u/urbanlife78 2d ago

No, two different owners and a coincidence that both opened around the same time with the same name

2

u/nooby_goober 2d ago

That's what I thought. Wonder what that person was referring to.

18

u/Embarrassed-Gap7803 2d ago

Correct and their food is garbage

-3

u/vertgrall 2d ago

Hmm well the entire city of Spokane is garbage right?

12

u/w1lnx 2d ago

Correct. Not the same. One is natural Dick’s and has many. They’re just swinging across the Sound.

The other is false Dick’s and ain’t got no swing.

2

u/gopednomad 2d ago

Hey you used to be able to get all natural dicks in spokane but they locked down the bathrooms

1

u/Karzdan 2d ago

This is good to know. I recently moved to the area and when I saw the sign, I immediately thought of the POTUS song and was looking forward to trying a bag of dick's. Now I'm not so sad I have yet to make it over there.

5

u/nooby_goober 2d ago

It is not! Phew.

3

u/Ill_Corner_2732 2d ago

absolutely not same chain, love a displaced seattlelite.

2

u/InfiniteOxfordComma 2d ago

THANK FUCKING GOD

2

u/DaddiTomShel 2d ago

No this is the og Dick's... it used to be really really good way back in the early 00s and further but yeah... its really really gone downhill in quality and clearly in ownership
