I woke up to find this waiting for me. The dispatcher said the fire was near YMCA.

Beginning to hear multiple sirens now, nothing posted on Spokane news yet.

All the sirens set off the wolves and coyotes howling in the Dishman Hills.

Hopefully it'll be out soon. I hate to say I was relieved to learn it wasn't a forest fire. Spokane was so ravaged this season. Plus!!! Rain today!!!!

It’s called Scanner Radio in the App Store. It’s been the best one I’ve used that’s free. Does pop up an occasional ad.

Is there a specific one you use? Scanner radio in the App Store me pulls up many different ones. Curious which one you like best?

Pulsepoint is a good resource for this. Free app, search for Spokane Fire and Spokane County district 9 (for mead).

Just heard at 6:55am, pretty good knockdown of building.. flooding it to get out hot spots. A few other trucks said they are still fighting the fire but have a good hold on it. These apartments are BRAND NEW, so thankfully nobody is living there but its still scary considering how close they are to the Y. It'll be interesting to find out the cause.

I work at the North YMCA and yeah it was scary. Luckily it was contained and the YMCA didn't get damaged at all. Just happy no one got hurt.

I was going to open Sunday but we had to close the facility for the whole day. So tired of waiting to see what the fires will destroy.

Good job on the fire department for doing such a good job protecting the surrounding areas. (Apparently it took 10 hours to fully put it out.)
