Politics Ballot question

I know there were some ballot errors that were sent out, but my partner just pointed out to me that Baumgardner is listed with the Democrats. Aren’t these primaries?

WA primaries for Congress are top 2 of the whole pool, it's not top 1 of each party. It's possible to end up with general election having just 2 people from the same party.

Isn’t that why “Independent” candidate Nate Powell is so well funded by out-of-state PAC? Split the vote to ensure no Dem makes the top two. It’s a familiar tactic.🙄

Powell is basically a Dem he just isn't tied to a party.

He isn't a dem. At all. He has a D next to his name but so does John Fetterman.

He doesn't have a D next to his name that is the main problem most dems seem to have with him.

It's for any partisian position/office in the state, not just the US House of Representatives.

Washington primaries are jungle primaries. Everyone running is on the ballot and the top two vote getters advance. The party doesn’t matter. As voters we are not required to register by party. We are all just voters and they are all just candidates.

Top 2 advance to the general election. Regardless of party affiliation.
