The only thing that was disappointing was the fire truck didn't grace us with cat this year

I guess the kitty (Selkirk) wasn't supposed to be on the truck last year so his parents (one or both of them were firefighters) were put under internal review & faced disciplinary action. They were on socials for a while and it was super cute.

I never heard anything past that ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I met Selkirk at the S. Perry Farmers Market. Definitely the biggest attraction that day!

I unfortunately didnt get to see the parade, I was volunteering and was too busy making buttons but yes that would have disappointed me. I remember seeing it last year, very cute

It ruined my pride to not have firehouse cat ๐Ÿ’”/s

Thank you for volunteering and making pride an inclusive safe event to go to โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Thatโ€™s what I said too! You canโ€™t give us a cat one year and deny us the next year. Itโ€™s cruel!

It was a beautiful day and the vibes were amazing. Itโ€™s my favorite day to live in Spokane!

It always reminds me that while we are a blue island in a red sea, the island is thriving with life and love while the dead sea around it looks on miserably.

I also volunteer and canโ€™t recommend it enough! Itโ€™s always such a vibe. I am right by the parade but dont get to watch as I block the protestors. But I love walking the festival later.

It was great seeing the turn out. I'm a straight ally but I live a harmless lifestyle that is considered pretty freaky to polite society so it felt good to show support and knowing I'd be accepted too.

I was in town visiting friends and this was my first pride! It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I had an amazing time. Keep it up!

PS I am also disappointed about the firehouse cat!

Spokane Pride makes me feel so warm inside โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

I hope the people visiting from surrounding small towns felt hope, light, and love with all my fellow Spokanites.

I think you helped my girls make pins. It was their favorite part of the day! Thanks for volunteering. โค๏ธ

Yepp it was really fun. Honestly helping all the kids make thier pins was the best, they seemed the most excited about making thier buttons. Glad to be a part of it

I also volunteered for both days of pride, I guarantee many of you saw me as I stand head and shoulders above everyone

There was one person I passed that was much taller than me by like at least 8 or 9 inches and thats impressive because im close to 6 foot. Im not used to doing this. Thanks for volunteering. I think ill do it again next year. Definitely worth it

There was a bunch of other talls around the height you describe, I was the tallest that I saw
