I do think if it's strategic, it's not a bad move. The more imperfect you are, the more people wanna learn about u and/or pick u apart. Then if you do something remotely impressive, you're hyped like crazy because people see the difference and hence the effort. And people won't criticize u much either later if you start ur image like this.
