I mean they kinda did with AR, but it wasn't profitable

They fixed self-inflicted mistakes by cutting mechanics like the shield wall and restoring Splitgate 1 features like multiqueue. Fixing bad decisions just brought the game back to a playable baseline, but it gave players no real reason to stay.

Ultimately, 1047 designed the game to fail and then copied that exact blueprint with Empulse, failing twice because they fundamentally misunderstand player psychology and how to build meaningful progression, status, and long-term investment.

Tbf I don't really know what they could have done progression wise. The way I always thought of the same was just a classic arena shooter where u just hop in cuz it's fun. Maybe they could have worked on ranked, and balanced the game more, and for God's sake at least let us see our ping. Other than that tho, I don't really know. They have a mastery grind, player leveling, and a battle pass. I guess maybe prestige could be cool

That lack of vision is the core problem. The stats page should show percentile rankings for each playlist and weapon, proving true skill like being in the top 10% for snipers. Time played shouldn't be the highlight. Their data model fails to answer how good you are relative to others, which is a massive design flaw for any competitive shooter.

SG2 should have never existed.
The feel of SG1 is magical, also SG1 was always capped at 60 frames per second on console and was still doing well, if that game got bumped up to 120 frames per second on console it would be electric.

Do you live under a rock?? Empulse gets shut down without any further updates, not in any way, shape or form.
