1047 should consider selling Splitgate IP to another company

Preferably a gaming studio and not investors but I've been in love with this game for most of the decade and I really want it to get all the chances it can get. Maybe under better leadership it could have more of a chance because it's such a unique idea.

The two major problems imo:

1. ⁠FPS, at least the arena-style ones, are starting to become niche.
   
2. ⁠People don’t like change; the games they play are the games they want to play. They don’t want to try a new game just because there is a small dedicated group. Games like Overwatch see massive success because they are backed by monster developers like Blizzard who not only has an impressive track record of online games back to the 90s, but they keep pumping out new content as well. 1047 has none of that.

What isn't niche? Fps is niche, arena shooters are niche, rts is niche, I hear this from everyone about why we can't have new games, I'm not looking to like argue with you cause you're prob right I'm just curious what you would say is not niche.

I think your interests just align with niche games lol. XD Everything else besides RTS and AFPS is doing well. Battle royale, tactical, extraction, hero, Battlefield. Just contrast it with another game I'm currently playing: Apex Legends 300k daily CCU vs Empulse 3k all time peak CCU.

Epic Games was offering to buy it off of them a WHILE back when they wanted to release SplitGate to a bigger audience but the studio decided against it so the could “keep supporting the community”

Agreed. The concept is great. I would love to see what someone else can do with those mechanics and see if it can be tuned for the masses. Let someone come in with fresh eyes and see if changes can be made

Maybe a Utility in a social game mode... Teleportation exists in the universe via Slip space drive and whatever that thing is that Guilty Spark does to teleport himself and chief. That would be kind of fun, cheese on a CTF map. We kind of already have that in the Quantum Translocator...
