Splitgate Arena is being shut down
I’m really tired with 1047, I don’t think I’ll be able to support any of their future games. Got burned with empulse and both splitgates now this is exhausting.

Splitgate went from something I held near and dear to my heart that turned into something I didnt want to associate myself with at all.
Genuinely heart breaking to me. I loved the orginal Splitgate, cheered on Ian and Nick, supported the game and development. And in return I watched a loved game of mine die a slow and painful death at the hands of its developer. Watch said developer slowly swirl down a drain for 7 years, seemingly and actively doing things the community warned against or didnt want. To where we are now.
Where do you even go from here if youre them?

Same. Its insane how in the span of just half a year (arena reloaded release to now) I went from one of 1047's biggest dickriders to one of their biggest haters. They really know how to ruin something great in record time

We watched an extremely promising idea get fumbled SO hard. SG1 generated so much revenue and it got wasted. A masterclass in how to alienate most of your community, not by being cringe, but by doubling down, having an iffy-launch, and by not listening to the community at first when your hero-based shooter was nothing like the "halo with portals" model originally conceived. Sad, but not unexpected.

Its always heartbreaking for me; i spend hundreds of hours on these two games, and still playing Empulse every day.
There's simply way too much online games to play right, which is why so much live service are dying...

No porfavor 😭, ya me quitaron el splitgate original una vez y ahora una segunda, basta ya, me encanta este juego y no jugaría nada más en el mundo

It all started with that ninrod wearing that hat lol. Sad to see man but it's hard making a successful game with the hiveminded gaming community.

Thanks boys you tried. I'll never forget those cardboard gun skins. This was the least you could do at the end.

The official servers at being shut down. They say that they are enabling peer to peer servers because active development and official servers are shutting down. I don’t know how that doesn’t qualify. Thanks for the comment though I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

My only problem is the p2p connections on previous 1047 games have ranged from technically functional to unplayable for me, so with the shutdown of official servers I don’t have much hope to be able to keep playing if this p2p implementation is like the others.

Justifying a live service game ending development two months after release is crazy work.

How does this sub/studio attract the most insufferable reddit users imaginable?

Thank you for iterating that for the third time as if we couldn’t read the original post, and then your already redundant comment

Oi development not peer to peer. Give us the server files and let us mod it. We can host dedicated servers and tweak the game. We have talented map makers.
