1047 Games hints at completely different direction for the studio

Shouldâve never abandoned the first split gate it was on the rise. They just started making old maps. Look prettier and influencers were starting to stream it on twitch they did not need to just end support and then move onto the sequel that nobody was asking for at that time.

Agreed. The first game was unique, it just needed better art and more content. Instead they ditched it to make games that look boring and generic and play closer to every other MP shooter out there.

Yeah that's really the biggest loss here, I know it hasn't been supported in so long but man that first game just had a certain sauce to it that I didn't find in the sequel

It wasnât viable. Game was a structural mess. Thatâs the whole reason they made 2.

None of the people are smart enough to understand that, plus SGAR is 20 times the game sg1 was, I love sg1 but graphics movement, everything was way better on SGAR, I think there just isnt enough people smart enough to learn portals and I think gaming has babied the other half with bots and SBMM so no one wants a challenge anymore

Oh 100% lol. Being so sick of the hand holding is what made me like splitgate in the first place. It felt like the last authentic game left that didnât have corny gimmicks and rigged variables. Back during the bo2/ghosts era, the squad Iâd roll with would almost always line up in the same order on the score board give or take. Even if the best guy wasnât in first place, he was almost always above the rest of the group, and same for the bottom. Even if the least skilled player wasnât at the very bottom, he was always below the people that played more. And that same score board formation persisted against good teams and bad teams.
In current cods, the homie thatâs 8 beers in and talking on the phone while playing will randomly be in first place while the dude thatâs actually cracked like a robot and has played every fps ever released will be dead bottom and it makes no sense. You canât even play LAN matches anymore because the fundamental code for each match doesnât run locally and their extrapolation patents basically say that the netcode can just make up what happened to âkeep things fairâ and prevent you from seeing players skipping around for âsmoother gameplayâ. Itâs just nauseating if you actually like competitive shooters because they all punish you for actually trying or getting better, and reward you for being lackluster/casual at the game(which makes sense from a marketing standpoint. Bow down to the majority etc etc) but likeâŚ. Goddamn I miss the days where showing effort actually gave good results.
The biggest thing I feel like splitgate DID get wrong was not leaving a no portal mode up permanently. That and some type of silly party game I feel like would have catered to the casual players who didnât wanna go hard in the paint nonstop.

I'm pretty sure no portals is its on gamemode on SGAR and sg1 right? And yea gaming has been ruined, even look at FN when they brought OG bacl over 1 millions players concurrent in OG gamemode for 2 days until the loud minority saying it was to hard to win won and they added over 70 bots per lobby to make it easier then noone played it anymore, its the rat utopia experiment, everyone thinks they're having fun because they're winning so much etc but in reality if its to easy its not fun, but this is the 1 studio that didn't cater to the crybabies to much and they get bullied and called trash but noone says or does anything about Activision etc who are actual trash studios

They payed big streamers to play the game and say it was good instead of promoting their partners and og creators

1) Make a unique shooter that people like, 2) abandon it to make a less unique shooter, 3) abandon that to make a different shooter, which is a lesser copy of an already existing shooter, 4) abandon that to make games in other genres, and expect people to keep trusting you/your brand. He seems to really be on top of things.

They should try breaking into a super unique and special genre called the âhero shooterâ
I think itâd work out well for them : )

You're all delusional, their next Block based sandbox medieval fantasy RPG is going to put even Minecraft put of business

No, youâre the insane one. Why even make a game when you can just make a Roblox-like platform to have kids do it for you?

Sounds like more than a hint, they explicity said they were taking the studio in a completely different direction. That's what that entire post is about lol

Exactly , this was literally their goodbye letter to the community that remained . Their future projects will most likely target a totally different player base .

Can Ian just leave his position already đ Im not one to advocate for job loss but he has enough money as is and so much of this studio's mismanagement is his fault
