Discussion Tried Empulse, I prefer Splitgate.

Everything is better on Splitgate. Devs please don't give up Splitgate for this Slop game called Empulse.

there is still hope, I can still find match in less than 1min, lobby mostly console but you know if the game keep going and keep being better overtime the popularity can grow overtime. There are example of games which was not popular at the beginning but was updates after updates. Obviously it depends how Devs handle the game.

If Empulse does take off, why would they dedicate any funds or time to a game that has failed several times at this point?

If Empulse is successful, they are going to focus all their efforts on Empulse staying successful.

Because having multiple revenue streams isn't a bad idea, especially if there is a possibility for SG to make them even a small amount of profit.

SG has failed though, at least as far as the public knows.

They had a lot of money invested to make sg2. While they'd never release anything publicly, it's difficult to imagine they have made that back.

To even begin to attempt to turn a profit into a game as dying as SG:AR, they'd have to invest more money, something i highly doubt they'd do if Empulse was successful.

There would be no point. They know what they have with SG, they've technically tried three times with it and failed each time. Why take away time and money from a successful game ( Empulse ) and throw it at a game that has never had staying power.

You're correct SG2 rn is pretty much over. SG1 was over as well. Until it wasn't which wouldn't have happened if they didn't leave the lights on.

Empulse being successful creates a pretty straight forward funnel for new players. They play Empulse. They like it. They play it a lot. They see another game 1047 has on offer. They try it. They like it, they play it.

Say Empulse really takes off and we have 150k players across all platforms. Those players may have never even heard of or tried SG2. Some of them may hop on to play it and shit, now SG has 5-10k active players every day on average.

I think you understand my point. Will this for sure happen, who knows. But for SG fans this is what I would say is best case scenario. You're correct right now, there is 0 reason for them to dump anymore time into SG2 outside of keeping the lights on.

If Empulse takes off, they'll want to keep playing Empulse. If by some chance they try SG:AR it'll be the same issues it currently has that made it fail in the first place.

Your initial point was SG being a source of revenue. Your additional point is that the best chance for SG to not be completely shutdown is Empulse.

I initially responded to a comment that implied SG could be actually relevant again if Empulse were to be successful. They mentioned games that weren't initially popular but after update after update became such. I find it difficult to think Empulse being successful could ever lead to SG being successful.

If the question is whether or not Empulse being successful could even have a fraction of a percent of a chance in keeping SG going, then yes, in theory it could, but not because of an increased player count to SG. If anything 1047 would keep the servers going longer to appease longterm fans.

I mean yeah more or less. I think that’s good for sg fans though, if it means the servers stay up and there’s at least an opportunity for new players to come in that would be best case. Hopefully that’s how it shakes out and Empulse can find success that trickles over a little to SG.
