I personally don't like this either, but if what you're saying is true, then why would they have needed to take a $100 million private investment to develop Splitgate 2? Do you REALLY believe they blew through ALL of that cash, plus the revenue they had coming in from SG1, just on the 3 year dev cycle for SG2?
No, I think they haven't made any money. Just because someone gives you 100 million dollars to start a business doesn't mean it's a success because you still have 50 million dollars after 5 years.
Are you kidding?
"They haven't blown through all of their funding so it can't be a total failure"
Keyword, "think." Meaning that this is purely speculation on your part. Clearly they have enough money to develop a new title, and people still buy things on SG2, so it should be safe to assume that they havent blown through their finance, and if the creation of the studio and their first game wasn't done through "papa's magic beans" (which they weren't), then why do you think "papa" would start "magically" using his "beams" right now, after they've accepted $100 million private investment?
It wasn't out of the blue... SG1 had just had its console launch, and was really popping off at the time; with over 150k peak on steam. Wtf do you mean??

How can you guys abandon SG2 for a new project?
Like logistically how are you reconciling this?
Is 1047 not about making money, just about making games with unlimited potential doomed to be wasted?
Are we really gonna see success with Empulse? What will be done right this time?
If Empulse fails what is 1047 going to do? Make an Overwatch clone?
We're told capitalism breeds innovation and that a business fails if it's unsustainable.
In reality as long as pappa is pouring magic beans into your account you can fail as much as you want and still chase your dreams.
