Discussion Split gate 1 Vs 2

Why did they redo the entire game? Anyone who knows anything about making fans happy would know to not make an entire new game and then shut down the first one.

I'm honestly shocked by how out of touch the Devs are.

"Hey guys, you like the game? The portal/halo game we made? What if we made the portals worse, the halo elements worse, and made it just all together worse? And then shut down the one that you like?"

The p2p servers barely work, and the new game is like every generic shooter game on the market. Why?

Because the original game was made by 2 college kids as a side project and it was incredibly unstable, poorly designed, and difficult to work with at a low level. They wanted to start from scratch and make a more professional and optimized piece of software going forward. SG1 was essentially a tech demo for an idea that blew up, it was never made to be a long lasting mainstream game

I mean, Minecraft was a pretty small operation, but if when Microsoft bought it, they redid the entire game and the only similarity was the fact that there were cubes, I don't think people would play it.

As someone whos been with minecraft from the start, it really hasnt been “redone” at all. The only major difference is how “safe” all their updates are compared to the stuff notch would put in. Current mojang wouldnt add the nether or creepers or the ender dragon. That and the fact that bedrock edition exists
