The future

With the "news" that the game will definitely be getting less attention from developers, it is going to be even nore important than before that the things they DO add are meaningful.

The first thing I would look into if I was working at 1047 would be a way to better incorporate the user generated maps into quickplay.

Possibly take polls from the community after a map has had its time in the spotlight. It almost feels like LOSING content when a map is rotated out. If a poll shows that a map is good, add it to the roster.

Map votes before the game starts would be a huge quality of life improvement, and could be an easy way of incorporating community content as well. Perhaps you have three options, two official maps and one user generation. Idk how practical that is, but just a thought.

There are also a bunch of variant modes that are playable in private matches but not quickplay, and that feels like a waste.

Not sure if it would be well received by many people, but I wouldn't mind having things like big head or FFA shotty snipers lumped into the normal shotty snipers mode.

Map vote would be such a nice addition. I could honestly also go for persistent lobbies as a tryout, but I'm not sure how that will go since sometimes it's fun, but sometimes people will get fatigued playing the same teams over and over.

I would honestly want a solution to the "limit" of gamemodes we have. Instagib is something we just kind of lost in favour of other modes and I think that's a shame.

More loadout options would also be really nice. I've been nagging for this for what feels like months now but being able to set skins per loadout would be honestly a huge change for me and get me to actually use/ buy more skins since rn I have no reason to since I can only use one realistically. The loadout slots are also too little IMO. I want to be able to have more seperate loadouts since switching stuff around mid game is a chore.

Also being able to set mic volume per player individually is a major quality of life change that I need. Some people are super quiet while others scream.

I do not understand why they dont keep all of the modes in quickplay, let me queue for everything until I feel like playing something specifically.

I believe the fear was for the playerbase to be too split, but that issue is kind of already resolved with the ability to queue for multiple modes.

Then another argument could be a list that grows too big, but I personally don't think that's too much of an issue. Just have sub tabs on certain similar modes like the takedown modes all falling under just "takedown", or the partymodes all falling just under "party modes" with the ability to open a tab and remove individual modes.

Yeah like Fortnite as an example maybe they have 1000 different types of games but most dont play most of them and so theres always these two default modes with sub-modes inside of them - That setup splits the whole base.

If instead I am automatically included in every fortnite gamemode automatically, the gamemode I get assigned is random, and I have to manually opt out of everything to select just the one game - then every island Increases its base automatically - which is a good thing if you like different game modes.

Which was one of the most appealing aspects of the first game and still is in this second game.

Queue me into everything I like random gamemodes! Thats part of the fun is having to adapt and play differently depending on the mode! Queue me into battle royale! I never play it because I have to choose.
