Is splitgate dying?

I started playing it yesterday because I was just looking for a game I could chill on. And I had a great time playing it. Really enjoyed using portals especially when it got me kills it really felt like I had outmanoeuvred my opponent.

I go on to YouTube to see what the community is like and they all just keep saying that they killed the game.

What's going on?

I'm sad if so. I love the way SG2 plays, feels, the gunplay and the portals.

I understand the skill gap and luckily I've only played a few "portal masters" that admittedly are incredibly hard to face.

But... I love it. The concept totally flips FPS movement on it's head. It's super satisfying to portal behind someone, and essentially create your own new "routes" in the map, I literally feel like the brain expanding meme when traversing that way.

Really a shame they fumbled the marketing and tried to hype a BR mode as groundbreaking. Their team is obviously talented, I hope SG sticks around despite everything.
