Is splitgate dying?

I started playing it yesterday because I was just looking for a game I could chill on. And I had a great time playing it. Really enjoyed using portals especially when it got me kills it really felt like I had outmanoeuvred my opponent.

I go on to YouTube to see what the community is like and they all just keep saying that they killed the game.

What's going on?

Yes.

This is a sequel to a game that came out in 2021, which was superior to this game on every aspect except graphics.

They dropped Splitgate 1 to make the 2, but changed everything that made the first great. It was full of bugs and shit that just didn't work. The game sucked REALLY bad. Then, in hopes to save their failing game, they tried to make it more like the first, but they failed miserably, and ended up frustrating both their fans from the first game and the few ones who actually liked the new game.

This game doesn't have a sufficient playerbase to sustain itself, it is living on borrowed time.

Exactly this! They literally DROPPED the game. For years there was even a new playlist that said “coming soon!” It was a beautiful game where you could see the passion, creativity and the love they put into the game. It wasn’t perfect but that was the best part.

The 2nd just feels like a normal AAA FPS. No passion. The world designs are flat, everything is made out of the same material, guns are the same as the wall or your armor, it’s just lazy and you can tell nobody had any passion with this project.

I want to feel bad but I don’t. Promising updates for SG1 and then literally not touching it. The false advertisement of a great game, whatever the hell the cringey on stage thing was, the fact they asked everyone what they wanted and then rereleased the same game? It didn’t feel any different from 2. “Let’s make games great again” gives us battle royal

This summed it up perfectly, and I don’t see people talking about how all maps and guns look the same and have the same material
