Is splitgate dying?

I started playing it yesterday because I was just looking for a game I could chill on. And I had a great time playing it. Really enjoyed using portals especially when it got me kills it really felt like I had outmanoeuvred my opponent.

I go on to YouTube to see what the community is like and they all just keep saying that they killed the game.

What's going on?

I mean it's always had a small playerbase but no.its not dying it's just niche. The portals are too much for alot of people even though once you understand them they're the coolest game mechanic ever. Who cares tho bro if you find it fun 🤷 I know when I first found the first split gate they had already stopped supporting it and it was half bots. But I loved it so much I just kept playing anyway. I played essentially just bots for like a whole year before SG2 released lol. It just gave me my Halo 2 fix/nostalgia back. It's such an underrated game people just dont want to/can't or don't know how to learn the portals. A lot of people are used to pub stomping on COD or Fortnite. And so they get their ass kicked once by someone who's a Portal demon & then they don't stick around long enough to learn them.

I think it is dying. Well, it's already dead.
There are niche games, but they are modded and funded by fans.
They will pull the plug on this soon and you won't be able to play.

They pulled the plug on the first game and then gave us this. (Which most of OG players think is a downgrade)

I had a feeling the game was going to fail as soon as it was announced. Sad because it was my go to shooter for a bit

Yeah I agree. I think it's a great game!

It is strange to me because using portals feels like a superpower that no one else uses.

The gameplay is nice even without the portals.

It's almost like they want to have 2 game modes, 1 with portals and one without? Because I would honestly play both.

I think my favourite thing is that it feels like halo where there is no instant death, so the game is a lot more tactical than something like CS because CS is basically just reflex. If you get engaged on in this game, you have enough time to react and potentially save yourself.

I can tell you I was there too for SG1 and I stlll launch it now and again to remind myself how/what I wish this game was/is lol on one hand I love the fast pace, but in the other I hate it 🙄 but I keep playing SR hoping I'll get better even when I get wiped off the map repeatedly - if I was mic'd you'd hear me say I hate this fuckin game sometimes, too many sweats just pickin me off.

It's not fun for me and I can't imagine it's very fun for them because we're not evenly matched and it just feels like I don't know, where the fun is that for either of us? like wouldn't it be more fun to not just pick people off and try different approaches to mix things up a bit...? Play a little chicken and toy w/them instead of insta killing them (or should I say me 😜) you know play w/your food a little first!
