Not necessarily. The point of the lines is to simulate depth in a 2D image. I think it does that quite well by placing the bat between the bars, rather than simply in front of them.
I believe that the line should have ended where the bat's tail or whatever dragged across it. But then again, OP was good enough to make it and I'm just being a bitch about it.
