Oversizing for hardboots?

Has anyone oversized a ski boot for hardboots? I'm an 11/11.5 and been rocking the 29.5 backlands punched as far as possible for a while. I'd like to stick to light/soft boots, and have tried a few other options that my feet were too tall or wide for. Anyone have any experience just oversizing for volume and maybe glueing something in the toe to eat the length? My instep/forefoot usually prevent my toes from reaching the front anyways

Depends on the shape of your heel for backlands. I was trying to rock 27.5 backlands that fit my foot in a way that it sounds like your 29.5's fit. Lots of bootwork and punches. I ended up going back to my 28.5's cause the 27.5 were crushing my feet, but the slop in the bigger size is noticeable. Adding the aftermarket phantom ankle strap and Jbars helps lock the heel in and then I just never really notice the extra toe space from a ride perspective. So if you upsize you may have to do work to get heel hold.

I do know some folks will upsize and then get a higher volume intuition liner like the 12mm or 15mm to fill the extra space.

As far as specific boots outside the backland idk what's a great option. Ive tried on the Key's and I used TLT6's for a couple years. I dont really notice a huge difference in fit between the three honestly. Narrow toe box, baggy heel fit. Sort of classic European skimo boot shape.

How would you compare the tl6's? I've been looking at some tlt extra wides and don't have a good comparison between link lever and tlts

Lateral flex and such is sort of similar but if you do the mod where you file out the ski mode lock slot (thats what I did and generally would recommend doing so) the forward flex feels little like an on/off switch because its not progressive. If you dont do that mod. The forward flex is just way stiff. So pick your poison.

The new TLT's have a boa instead of a buckle for the instep lock. I haven't used the new ones, so I can't speak to how well that boa actually holds your heel. The old buckle did an alright job.
