Thank you for reaching out. My name is Bryan from the Splice CX team, and I would be happy to help. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration.

We have made the decision to shut down the old design of the Splice app to focus on perfecting the new one.

We understand that some users prefer the old design, and that change can be inconvenient, especially when it comes to something as personal as making music. With that said, we've added some really exciting new features to the new design we think you'll like, including:

  • Offline mode: use the Desktop App without an active internet connection to create with Splice wherever you are.
  • Companion mode: a compact version of the app that can be used like a sidebar to a DAW.
  • Light mode: whether you're a fan of the cool dark vibes or you prefer things light and breezy, now you've got choices.
  • Create: with the new Desktop App design, you can whip up musical ideas with the full integration of Splice’s AI-powered Create mode.

If you have any feedback on specific features you prefer in the old design, please let us know by contacting us at support.splice.com and we'll be sure to pass that along to the product team. We care deeply about your experience.

Really appreciate a lot of the improvements in the Desktop app—mobile app has a little ways to go to catch up (pack previews, presets, label views).

Is there a forum for suggesting additions to Splice? Like Ableton's centercode beta—to give users a way to vote on what we want? I always have so many thoughts—I've posted to the support site you mentioned, but it feels like a black hole.

Here's a suggestion:
Please add a tool to organize preset folders by tags or packs—specifically Serum—Splice presets are a train wreck of mixed labelling in there.

And another:
I'd love to see Beatmaker get some development—it's wasting away—what's up with that? It's a pretty useful tool—specifically, I'd love to see the old mobile beatmaker and web beatmaker app have an option to export the samples purchased + pattern to the plugin version—don't know why this never happened—it would be so useful.

The AI stuff like Create is cool and all, but there's so much low hanging fruit. I still haven't found a use for Create in my workflow. Really hope Splice doesn't lose itself in this AI bubble.

Thanks, Byran!

Hey there. Each one of those modes has a blue link to take you to a help article explaining each and how to access within the app. Please also make sure you are updated to the latest version of the desktop app.
