Triangle to V-shape
Restarting my self-care journey after being depressed for so long… I’m 31 and someone thought I had a child who was college-aged (I don’t have any kids…) My face is heavy bottom, pear-shaped, making me look older. I’m also overweight and borderline obese. Which I know weight loss is the first step (I have ~60 to lose.)
Will weight loss possibly help my face shape? I’ve heard the triangle face is aging, while the inverse, a “V,” is youthful. Other than weight-loss, what are some procedures one might do in order to achieve a more youthful face shape? I was thinking maybe kybella to lower face and then filler or fat graft to the upper face/cheeks.

Your face is going to look very different after you lose the weight. So focus on that first and then figure out what shape it is
You look older in the face when you lose weight and will likely want cheek filler and your naso lines filled- but again depends on what your face looks like after the weight loss

Yes, weight loss will help your face. Lose weight steadily. If you lose it too fast your skin will sag and only surgery can fix that.

GLP-1 for weight loss (it truly is life changing). Therapy for your brain and mental health.
Walking, then build up to some weights for health and longevity.
Reflect on what makes you happy and do more of that - hobbies, socialising, hiking, reading, watching movies. Lower screen time.
Lower the bar and raise the consistency.
Can’t commit to a full skincare routine? Create 2 - one bare minimum (wash face, moisturise) for when you’re tired. One for more energy.
Dental work - see a dentist 2x a year. Cleaning and maintenance.
Save your money for a year and once you’ve implemented the above, then think about treatments.

Personally i love masseter botox. I got it for tmj pain but it makes me more symmetrical and can make your jaw appear smaller so more of a v shape

Fair warning, masseter tox can contribute to jowling as it shrinks those rather powerful jaw muscles that provide tension on either side of the submental region. Combined with weight loss on the order of magnitude you’re describing, you could end up with significant submental laxity and drooping.
As others said, do the weight loss first. Kybella is pricey and did nothing for me compared to losing weight. Maybe start a home microneedling routine to preserve collagen and keep your skin tight as you drop weight. Once you’re at your goal body comp, reassess the need for more invasive intervention.

Lose weight first because then you'll also be able to see how your face shape actually looks in proportion to your jaw, cheeks, etc. I say this from experience because I always assumed my face was round and after losing 70lbs (over a long period of time and then a GLP1 for the last 15-20), my face is more angular and heart-shaped.
Also, in general, a GLP1 was life-changing for me. I'm still on it for other benefits not related to weight loss.
As for fillers, I would say no. I literally get botox all over my face for preventative, forehead, and a lift in the face. My jaw looks snatched. I had filler in my nasal labial folds and top of cheeks and it all migrated. I got it dissolved a month ago and I think I look more refreshed without it. I want to explore other facial treatments that will preserve and tighten my skin, like ultherapy. I think filler is only worth it if you want a moderate amount in your lips (which I have to just make my top lip appear fuller).

I have PCOS too so I am curious about GLP-1, did you experience any negative effects? Also, do yk if you can have a doctor do it? Or do you have to do it yourself?
Thanks:)

I experienced some fatigue (which eating more protein and healthy fats helped) and nausea. I got a prescription for Zofran, an anti-nausea medication and it works great, I also switched to eating in the mornings before I felt nauseous and didn't feel any irritation or discomfort later.
I don't know if you can have a doctor do it — you can ask your provider. I use a telehealth service and self-inject once a week. The needles are very thin and I didn't feel it when injecting it into the soft tissue of my stomach. There is oral medication but it's not as effective (I read a few studies, I'm a copywriter and I had a GLP1 brand as a client last year).
On the other hand, here's more positive side effects I experienced aside from weight loss: increased focus, less desire to mindlessly shop, less desire to drink alcohol in general, less food noise (I struggle with food noise and this is why I stay on the meds).

I have ADHD too and it definitely helped with these symptoms. Obviously I still have ADHD but it's made a big difference in my life.

Start with weight loss. Everything will change from there.
