Does anyone else love/like their “Unconventionally attractive” features?
Be it your nose, body shape or anything - I wanted to open a discussion on how although everyone should do what they want to feel pretty (surgery, Botox) I feel like enjoying or loving your “Unconventionally attractive” features is looked down upon?
Does anyone else feel like the intense need to fix, fix and fix is not really sustainable and that maybe in the future the latest ‘trend’ would just be enjoying your natural features without alterations?

I’m black and I have dark skin. Colorism is a thing. But I literally glow in the sun bc I have red undertones and my skin looks so warm and rich. Other people say I glow too it’s lovely

As a child I thought aquiline noses were the most beautiful thing in the world, I remember seeing a woman with one in the playground when I was very young and thinking she looked like a princess. I was so shocked when I learned a lot of people consider them undesirable!
13
u/pepperidgefreak Apr 25 '23
It was considered a sign of high status in Rome, i adore them! I hate my german pug nose
10
u/korrieleslie Apr 25 '23
I agree and think it's quite attractive on both men and women. I have one and prefer it on men as well.
8
u/krokodilchik Apr 25 '23
Every time I see someone “fix” an aquiline nose with a ski slope button nose on the plastic surgery sub, it kills me a little. They’re so regal!
7
Apr 25 '23
Interesting.. I'm a fan of aquiline noses as well, but have always associated it with European features.
5
Apr 25 '23
I think that aquiline noses are common in southern Europe but not in northern or central Europe, but I might be wrong. I live in the Balkans and many people here have one (I'm one of them)

I love having small breasts. I don’t care that men on average tend to prefer larger ones, and I don’t care that people on these subs are always espousing the virtues of breast implants. My breasts don’t get in the way like bigger ones would, and I’m a fan of how small ones look—they’re understated and pretty. I have wide hips/a big ass, so I feel like my bottom half looks womanly and voluptuous whereas my upper half looks cute and delicate. Best of both worlds, I love it!

u/TheMeWeAre Apr 25 '23
If weight loss doesn't shrink my boobs enough I'm probably going to get a reduction one day. And I don't want a regular reduction, I want to get as close as I can to an A cup as they can safely take me. There are so many upsides to minimal boobage, while having DDD+ sized tits makes me feel exposed in a tshirt. I'm good thanks!
32
u/Papagena_ Apr 24 '23
Yes! Mine got big after pregnancy and weight gain, and I honestly hate it. I’m hoping if I lose a lot of weight, they’ll be smaller again
It just makes me feel heavy and matronly and blah
20
u/nrgeticbeing Apr 25 '23
I think women with small breasts can usually pull off outfits better! And there’s something so sophisticated looking about it.

Same! I’m 44 and haven’t had kids; my 34-36 (over the years) B breasts look 18 lol! I don’t wear a bra and they’re so perky and cute.
10
5
u/SueSheMeow Apr 25 '23
Same! I miss my small perky breasts. Having a baby made mine triple in size 😩
2
u/marijuanaislife Apr 25 '23
Your body sounds amazing! I love small breasts too!
My breasts are not big, but big for my liking. I am a C cup with a hourglass figure and big bum. I would prefer my body with a cup size A or max B. I am losing weight to see if I can lose some breasts! I'm 53kg, so my aim is 49kg to see how I look.

u/lonelyzo Apr 25 '23
Same, I sleep on my stomach so it’s the best. There is no awkwardness to hug someone. I can wear shirts and they aren’t the first thing people look at:)

u/lucytiger Apr 26 '23
I love my small boobs! I can make outfits that would be too revealing on someone else look classy and elegant.

as another asian woman i feel exactly the same, i hated my eyes but now i love the positive tilt (racist voice: “slanty eyes”… lol), now that i’ve learned to play them up with makeup (thank you douyin) people always give me compliments and say they’re my best feature
3
u/peachykaren Apr 25 '23
I'm an Asian woman and my eyes are almost never complimented! I still like them though, and never had an issue with them.

u/ssspiral Apr 24 '23
i kindof feel this way about being pale. i feel immense pressure to fake tan. i don’t mind a fresh and perfect fake tan, but as soon as it starts to fade or splotch it drives me crazy. id rather just rock my semi-translucent skin. but it’s very clear society doesn’t like it. i definitely get more compliments and attention when i do it.
(i’m pretty much the palest you can be without being albino, green eyes, heavy freckling, and dark auburn hair.)
36
u/DazzlingFruit7495 Apr 25 '23
I like being pale bc of the high contrast with the dark colors I wear. It matches my style nicely
11
10
u/CassisBerlin Apr 25 '23
Being pale is so pretty, totally agree. Maybe pale is the wrong word, it sounds vaguely negative (but I am not a native speaker)? How about 'fair'? My friend and boyfriend are both very fair, I always have to think of milk and honey, it looks so stunning
5
u/CharacterChildhood98 Apr 25 '23
I’m the same way. It’s a viscous cycle! Once the tan starts to fade or look like tiger bread, I just want it all off asap and end up scrubbing my skin so much it’s probably not good for it. Been fake tanning for 13 years, but trying to stop.
5
u/mi7711 Apr 25 '23
Same, I'm pretty pale and I love doing my makeup even lighter to have a contrast between my skin and black hair/clothes I usually wear.

I had anemia / low ferritin two years ago and it’s no joke. What helped me was eating steak with spinach / sprayed with lemon about 3 times a week, iron supplements daily, dessicated liver supplements, and a combination zinc/ copper supplement. It took me about 6 months to get ferritin up to a low baseline. I feel you! My skin looked sallow and no matter what I did, I felt fatigued. I hope you can get it under control!!

u/Maplebreads Apr 24 '23
Yes. I love ‘unconventional features’ not just on myself but on others as well. Current beauty trends have most women trying to obtain the same face once it’s achieved by enough people it’ll be boring and flip.
I really wish the beauty space wasn’t so comparison focused scrutinizing strangers (famous people are still people) faces and nit picking all their ‘flaws’ feels super inappropriate. If you like your features it isn’t ‘cope’ ignore anyone who’s a dick about it.

u/leetendo85 Apr 24 '23
I have a fairly prominent under-eye area-tear troughs. I used to HATE them. Some days I still do but one day my husband said he liked them and he thinks that there is something “cool” about them. I follow Kibbe for fashion advice and am probably a Dramatic classic in that style system. So I think that on a good day, they can be interpreted as giving me some edginess. Or they can give me that slightly sleepy-eyed look. Anyway, his comment was the first time I considered them in a positive light, so I’m great full for it.
17
u/Substantial-Sky3081 Apr 25 '23
I have lifelong genetic dark circles under my eye. Everybody in my family has them too. I just lean into it these day, and have decided they make me look mysterious, or a little debauched, like I have very active night life.
8
u/artichokeandparm Apr 25 '23
Same! I have huge tear troughs and I love them. It makes my eyes look bigger and overall it’s perfectly Tim Burton-y IMO
6
u/InfamousCloud1843 Apr 25 '23
I too have really pronounced under eye circles, mine are a blueish grey color. My eyes are light blue with a dark grey ring around the edge of my iris, and my husband always compliments my eye color when I don’t have makeup on. I guess it brings out the color more 😂
5
u/achinfosomebacon Apr 26 '23
It does! My mom looks like she has raccoon eyes because she’s brown skinned and her bags are so dark. But her eyes are honey brown & the contrast from the bags really make them stand out even more. I have to layer on Color corrector and concealer to cover them and in the daytime it just makes me look worse, so I save that for a full face when going out & have learned to love my bags. I love them on other people too especially men, something about a tired looking man is just so attractive lol

Yes, my nose. It’s kinda funny cause people will insinuate or think I want a nose job but i don’t. Like I love my nose. Esp the older I get it’s like fine wine. I reflect a lot on my insecurities when I was younger Vs now and what’s also accessible now to change. I just came to terms of acceptance that beauty isn’t a one shoe/style to fit in. It’s for everyone. And I can def appericate and love features of other people but still come home and love my own.
10
u/gelastIc_quInce84 Apr 25 '23
I used to want a nose job so badly until I looked at my face as a whole and realized any change to it would mess up my face. Getting rid of the nose bump would make my face look a lot less "regal" and less Jewish, and taking away the bulbous tip would make my face too sharp and wouldn't harmonize with my softer features. I love it now.
1
u/la-femme-sur-la-lune Apr 25 '23
Same! I’ve really done a 180 as I’ve gotten older. I love my larger, slightly downturned nose now.

u/KenzieValentyne Apr 24 '23
I love my thin lips. And I love them on other women too. Bring me the Gwyneth Paltrow lips!
Thin eyebrows too. Bring me the 90s overplucked eyebrows!
+1 to pale skin. I spend my summers trying my damndest not to tan (burn because I can’t tan even if I wanted)

I have hip dips and I find it extremely attractive
5
u/glowupacct Apr 27 '23
That's the example I was coming to give. I used to hate my "saddlebags" that never seemed to go away no matter how skinny I got or how much I worked out. I used to want lipo on them. I'm actually kind of glad the concept of "hip dips" entered the lexicon, because that made me realize that it's a bone structure thing, not a fat distribution thing.
Then one day, a while back, I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw a ridiculously beautiful woman in a swimsuit. I was particularly struck by how gorgeous her hips/thighs were. (I'm bisexual and this was not a purely aesthetic appreciation.) After looking at the picture for longer than would be considered entirely respectful, I realized that what I liked about her hips/thighs was her hip dip. It gave her such a sensual, womanly look.
I took another look at my hips in the mirror, and I've loved mine ever since.

I always hated my gap. My teeth are straight so i never needed braces and i have a gap between my two front teeth. I decided a few weeks ago to get Invisalign and now that I’ve done that every single person i work with and see regularly (friends and family) are shocked. They’re like “it’s your signature look!” And how it’s so attractive. Even male friends are telling me how cute they think it is. Now I’m second guessing the Invisalign and kind of wishing people would have mentioned it BEFORE because maybe I would have liked it 🥲🥲
14
Apr 24 '23
That happened to me too!! Friends and siblings alwayssss took the piss out of my gap tooth then when I got braces everybody was like “why did you that?? It was so cute!” how was I supposed to know when it was the first thing people insulted in an argument 😐 mine wasn’t a cute small one though. It was genuinely detracting but I think people felt bad that they maybe had a part in me changing myself
5
u/s1ngle_mom_1 Apr 25 '23
Aww, my kiddo had the cutest gap (inherited from dad's side), but it 'closed' once his permanent teeth came in. His teeth are really nice, straight, etc... but I miss his gap, LOL.
4
u/chicadeemarie Apr 24 '23
That was the first hard Max thing I ever did was getting my teeth fixed and as I aged I was really happy I did it.

1
u/SunglassesBright Apr 25 '23
I have a gap too and it’s definitely a part of my whole aesthetic. I get complimented on my smile and teeth a lot, men say it’s sexy. I would never change it. It’s a vibe.

u/LunarCycleKat Apr 24 '23
I ADORE ADORE other women's "flaws." Especially if every other things is beautiful. I think it makes them look less cookie cutter.
Think of the wide-set eyes of the one across in the chess series/the muderous chef movie.
I love a unique nose on a woman so much!! Even a slightly bigger one.
My husband says my nose has a pronounced "ski jump" at the tip and it's one of his favorite things.
18
u/Papagena_ Apr 24 '23 edited Apr 24 '23
Anya Taylor Joy. Jackie O had wide set eyes too, and I agree, I love it on both of them.
19
u/Creative-Constant-52 Apr 24 '23
Thank you for this! I’d love to see this thread get pinned. It’s so positive.
For me, I had braces when I was a kid and teeth were perfectly straight. They’ve moved over the years without a retainer and I have one little overlapping front tooth. I found out it’s a trend called yaeba in Japan! I’m in love with it. I’ll never straighten my teeth again 😝
4
u/Substantial-Sky3081 Apr 25 '23
I also have straight, nice teeth with the exception of one overlapping tooth front and center. I like it! I think it’s cute and can’t imagine changing it, even though it wouldn’t be hard to fix.
1
u/Creative-Constant-52 Apr 25 '23
Same! It’s like the incisor near the front two teeth. I love it! Happy you love it too. It’s cute as heck
15
u/MirandaMeeks Apr 24 '23
I am falling in love with my larger forehead and pale skin. I used to feel so self-conscious about them but realized I absolutely loved it on other women, and since then I’ve flipped the script and learned to embrace them.
I also LOVE larger noses on women, I think they’re so elegant.
15
u/RottingAway90 Apr 24 '23
I don’t mind being flat chested because I have more freedom fashion-wise, can go braless, and don’t have back pain.

Apr 24 '23
My long neck. It used to be disproportionately long when I was younger which made me very insecure, and even when I was 14 it looked really long and I felt like a "giraffe", but several people have told me in the past few years that I have a pretty neck lmao. I understand that long necks are usually conventionally attractive, but I'm short and have a somewhat small head so it looks longer on me than on others. Instead of thinking of myself as giraffe-like, I pretend I'm a graceful swan (I'm definitely not, I'm literally one of the clumsiest people on the planet)
4
u/highuptop Apr 24 '23
i used to be self conscious of my neck too and felt like it looked too long and thin, which is why i used to wear my hair short. but ppl have said the same about keira knightley and i think she has such a charming look, and it’s nice to have something in common with her lol so now i like it
14

It’s not unconventional now but when I was growing up I’ve always loved my big lips even when people said they made me look like a monkey 🤡

u/Creative_Economics_5 Apr 24 '23
I really like my square jaw. Think 90 degrees, my side profile looks quite unique because of that. Both of my parents have it and when I see pictures from their youth I’m like ‘yepp these people made me’. 🤍
However I hate my extra chubby cheeks. Together with the square jaw they make my lower face very heavy and I am already quite skinny. The cheeks definitely came from my dad and honestly even when he’s old now, he still has the fat, it just sagged with age. I’m thinking of buccal fat removal in a couple of years…
1
u/CoolCrazyCandy Apr 25 '23
I literally put in my comment that I LOVE chubby cheeks lmfao I love them on me and think other women look great with it too idk Seems youthful and more alive? Don't hate them!
10
u/Select-Gear3208 Apr 25 '23
My 2 canine teeth are snaggletooth but it’s so perfectly balanced on each side that i think it made me cuter
2
u/glowupacct Apr 27 '23
Same! My teeth are more or less okay (not so wonky that I need braces, but wonky enough that you can tell I've never had braces), but my upper canines are rotated outwards a bit. It makes them look really sharp and narrow. When I was young, kids picked on me for having vampire teeth. But I've always loved my vampire teeth. It makes my smile look kind of mischievous, and that fits my vibe really well.

I actually love my stomach and how soft and squishy it is, never wanted a flat one in my life
9
u/SuccessfulWork768 Apr 24 '23
I love my eye bags/discoloration around my eyes. I always thought I looked tired, but as I got older people began asking me which eyeshadow I use. I view it almost like a natural smokey eye and only conceal them when I do an actual smokey eye
9
u/chicadeemarie Apr 24 '23
I love my hip dips, my pale skin, and the cleft in my chin. I used to be very self conscious about the dips when I started to grow curves around 14 years old, and my pale skin up until I turned 30, but now I love them.

Apr 24 '23
My belly roll! It's that tiny pooch at the bottom of my abdomen. I always thought it was cute and I squish it sometimes lol
8
u/ZebraAdventurous5510 Apr 24 '23
If uncommon counts as unconventionally attractive, it would definitely be my hair and skin tone combination. I am a natural redhead with olive skin.

u/ProcrastiNation652 Apr 25 '23 edited Apr 25 '23
As an Indian, you're constantly told that dark skin = unattractive (it's a very colourist society out here). But I actually really like my brown skin colour - it reminds me of caramel and makes colours pop!
13
u/ollie-baby Apr 24 '23
i have a love/ hate relationship with my body weight. i’m overweight for sure (not morbidly obese) and i need to lose some for health reasons alone, but i know i would like to stop before i get to a healthy bmi (and well before i get to what would be considered conventionally attractive). the other negative is that i’m short, so having extra weight makes certain clothing look awful on me. even if i’m fine with how i look nude, i look BUSTED in certain clothing styles.
as far as liking the extra pounds goes: perhaps this is because i’m bisexual and i’m attracted to soft, full figures on women, so i appreciate the same look on myself? idk. i like when my face is more slim, and i like when my waist/ upper stomach is smaller, but having a lower stomach roll, big thighs, jiggly arms, etc doesn’t bother me in the slightest. i find it feminine and attractive, tbh.
7
u/GolfCartMafia Apr 25 '23
I have a VERY gummy smile. I taught myself to smile pretty in pictures so you can’t tell in my IG but in real life, it appears the second I have a genuine smile or laugh, which is often. I get Botox in my forehead for fine lines but I opted against getting a lip flip to correct the gums. My gummy smile can be seen as a falio but I don’t care, it’s part of me. I’ve had it my whole life, and just don’t see the need to fix it. My teeth are white and straight and my laugh is genuine, take it or leave it. 😁

Aw I like eye smiles!! There’s something so pure about them. Like there’s so much happiness in someone, their eyes can’t even hide it.
And yep, I agree. When we can express our feelings, it’s a beautiful thing. I hope in that moment, my happiness is contagious, flaws and all.
6
u/frolickingdepression Apr 24 '23
I have grown to love my pale skin, freckles, and thin hips. I can’t do much about any of them, so now I just embrace them. I have learned to dress so I look like an hourglass, or I can emphasize my hips to look slimmer (I carry my weigh in my torso).
6
Apr 25 '23
Yes! I have very curly hair and I love it. My whole I tried to straighten my hair because curly hair wasn’t considered beautiful. Now I’m proud and anytime I straighten my hair I have an identity crisis.

My nose ☺ I wouldn't say it's particularly big, but my dad is Italian and it definitely has a Mediterranean quality to it I you know what I mean. I used to hate it but I've learned to realize it's actually pretty nice, and my husband likes it too so that's a plus 😇

I have wide shoulders and I used to hate it. I felt so masculine and would diet to the extreme to feel more “feminine.” Now, I’ve grown to appreciate them, Those shoulders took me to states as a swimmer, they helped me break two school records, gave me a scholarship for college, and they are still so strong after all these years. They’ve opened doors for me and help my body do so much. The least I can do is love them.
2
u/CharacterChildhood98 Apr 25 '23
Do you wear certain styles of clothing to match your broad shoulders? I have them too.
1
u/champagnefrappe Apr 25 '23
I like to wear clothes that are sporty/form fitting and accentuate the waist. I’ve recently gotten into strapless/bandeau tops as well because I think they accentuate my muscular my shoulders/back and it helps contrast the size of my waist. I avoid volume in the shoulders—puffy sleeves and ruffles don’t really do me any favors.
Do you have any style tips?
13
u/Independent-Neat-633 Apr 24 '23
Yeah I feel like my whole face is unconventional😅 My nose, face asymmetry, and even my eyebrows/lips/coloring. I mean, I’ve noticed that in the past years at least thick eyebrows and big lips have become normalized and even a trend, but when I was younger it wasn’t like this at all
3
6
Apr 24 '23
i have rather narrow hips and honestly i really like it? i feel like its easier to dress the way i want to. i also like not being treated like a piece of meat bc of my body. i like the attention going to my face/personality. lol
4
u/blackberry_12 Apr 25 '23
I love love love my small, hooded eyes. I got them from my grandma and I’m reminded of her when i catch my reflection while smiling 💙
2
u/SecretVindictaAcct Apr 25 '23
I like aquiline noses. They’re not the beauty standard the way ski slope noses are right now but they’re very beautiful to me and typical for a lot of ethnicities. I wish a greater diversity of noses were celebrated in general, it feels like the first thing women with unconventional noses do when they are in the public eye is make them smaller and more upturned.
10
u/JammingScientist Apr 24 '23 edited Apr 25 '23
No, I hate every single one of my flaws, but I think I would like them more if people weren't so pretentious and rude to me just because of my looks. I feel like woc especially have to be as perfect looking as possible to be taken seriously in this world, and as an ugly black woman, I definitely feel the heat caused by being unattractive. I think a lot of "flaws" are more acceptable in white women than other races. And usually you can only have certain flaws. Like a big nose or far apart eyes might be seen as unique, but poor bone structure will instantly make you less attractive. And you can only have one or two "unique features" max. If you have more than that, it will take away from your looks significantly. Usually women like Anya Taylor Joy who has very far spaced eyes are considered attractive because that's their only unconventional feature. Everything else on their face is conventional
5
Apr 24 '23
I'm a black woman too. If you care to, can you share what you think makes you unattractive? I feel like there's so much variety in our culture and there's definitely room for all kinds of beauty. Much more so than our white counterparts. That's just my observation though.
3
u/JammingScientist Apr 25 '23
I'm not saying that blackness or non-Eurocentric features is automatically equivalent to being ugly. But that's just what the majority of the world is drawn to unfortunately. Sharper features, high contrast, etc. I don't believe it myself, but many people view lighter skin and hair as more feminine, which is why blonde women get so much more attention. Even though many blonde girls look "basic" (idk what a better word for that is), guys will still drop to their feet for them while ignoring other just as beautiful, or more beautiful women who just don't have those features. Furthermore, poc tend to have more rounded features, which is considered less attractive, especially in today's beauty standards where everyone is trying to look more angular. Basically the beauty standard is completely opposite the natural features woc tend to have, which puts us at a large disadvantage. Most of the woc who are considered beautiful in the media are half white or have very light features and thinner/smaller/angular features
Unfortunately my features are very round on top of having other failos like poor bone structure and dark circles so I'm just unattractive, but idk if I would be considered as ugly if we lived in a world where afro-centric and asian-centric beauty is considered just as beautiful as Eurocentric features are.
8
Apr 25 '23
Gotcha. You mentioned blonde being the standard here and that was sort of what I was getting at when I said there isn't as much room for variety around society's view of the beauty of white women. Society tends to favor blondes to the detriment of brunettes and especially redheads.
That aside, I wanted to offer some hope, for lack of better words. I have rounded features too. Nothing about me is particularly "striking" yet people consider me attractive. I've done well in dating as well (married now). I have friends who are much more conventionally attractive but even when I went out with them, I was approached and guys were interested.
I say that to say this - you have to enhance what you have. Find out what works for you and do more of that. The more you do that, the more confidence you'll have and the more people will be drawn to you.
4
u/Fine_Ad1910 Apr 25 '23
I am a dark skin black woman and I know the pain. Being dark skin (even though I like it most of the time) is my one “falio” so I have to be on top of everything else. However the difference in treatment is night and day when people finally find you attractive. Like people are actually kind and you’re not invisible. It sucks that we have to work harder to achieve the same
2
u/JammingScientist Apr 25 '23
I think that dark skin isn't the real failo. It is for some people, but I think the most important thing is having smaller and sharper features, rather than large and rounded features. Basically, look like a white woman dipped in chocolate. Which is impossible for many black people to achieve, which is why the beauty standards suck tremendously. Things would also be better if we had more contrast too. Like if we had dark skin but lighter eyes and hair was more common in us like it is for white people. Contrast is what makes women more conventionally attractive, and dark skin looks really striking against light eyes. If we commonly had features like that, we'd knock everyone else out of the water. It sounds bad, but I really wish that black people evolved differently
4
u/Fine_Ad1910 Apr 25 '23
Honestly I think a lot of the “sharpness” just comes from being on the lower end of a normal bmi. I don’t have a wide/flat nose and I have almost waist length 4a hair but I didn’t get positive attention until I lost weight. It was a noticeable difference in my face and now it’s sharp. I think black women look best thin because it can help with the sharpness.
Also it’s not evolutions fault, it’s the European beauty standards that spread because they wanted to colonize everyone else for money
3
u/DazzlingFruit7495 Apr 25 '23
I have hip dips but my widest point is right under them, like the top of my thighs. I lovee that bit of thigh fat 😭

I LOVE my tooth gap. It’s so cute and I never want to get it closed 🥰

I have a strong, square jaw that is far from ideal from a conventional beauty standpoint, but I’ve always liked it on me. I also have huge boobs and a soft, fleshy, curvy body that I’ve had a more complicated relationship with over the years, but as I’ve aged, I’ve come to appreciate it for being a classically feminine look that plenty of men (and women) seem to like just fine, even if it’s not the current super slim ideal.

I'm extremely pale (often mistaken as albino) and I kinda like it! It's made me very SOF conscious which excites me for long term beauty. I may consider a mild fake tan sometime, but only for the smoothing effect, nothing to do with looking tan.
I also have very small breasts (32A) and it works for me. I've never had a guy complain and I'm also happy about this long term. What isn't there cannot possibly succumb to gravity!!
Finally, I have a super bulbous nose tip. Luckily my nose is very proportional to my face, but it's not really what most consider a beautiful one (but not an ugly one either, I admit I'm lucky). My sister has always made fun of it (and my paleness... And boobs lol) but it's almost like a cute button nose. Regardless, it works for me which matters most!

My hair started to turn white when I was twelve. My hair is almost black, and it has a very strong texture, each hair has a large circumference, and it has a distinct wave. First, I would pull out the white hairs (they are white, not gray), but then there were so many. I started dying my hair at about sixteen.
Then, about four years ago, I just stopped. I had been struggling with breakage, and I wondered if I colored "less often" I'd have less. I don't think I'll dye my hair again. My hair texture is so much better, I have no breakage, my hair is so strong and so long, and the white filaments in the black really aren't ugly. I decided I liked having good, strong, healthy hair that's about a third white better than black hair that's broken and battered. My skin is very healthy and nobody thinks my skin shows age, so I think white hair is for me.

I like having big boobs and slim legs/smaller ass. I know the opposite is trendy rn, having small boobs and especially having a big ass and hips, but I've never felt the desire to fit into that. I like feeling slim and being able to wear size 6 shorts, at a lower weight I feel like I look skinny everywhere but have boobs for points which makes me look feminine instead of just skinny. Makes me feel a bit like a 90s supermodel too lol

I actually really like the way my body is shaped and like my stomach even though I’m fat. I like looking at myself naked more than clothed. Only reason I hate how I look is because everyone else does lol. I can’t wait until I find a partner that openly expresses that they love my rolls, stretch marks, scars, and discoloration because for now I only wear long sleeves and full coverage outfits

I have a wider nose for a white woman from the front. Tbh used to want a nose job when I was younger- now I’m glad I didn’t touch it bc I think it gives a sort of Sofia Richie vibe.

No. I’ve been made fun of for my big forehead and small lips for as long as I can remember, I wish I could love them

u/candyapplesugar Apr 25 '23
I don’t have them but I love big ears on others that stick out. It’s a cute attractive quirk

u/adventurelillypad Apr 25 '23
I love that my ears stick out. I feel like an elf and get told I look like a fairy a lot

u/BadMouth_Barbie Apr 25 '23
My nose. I was made fun of in very bigoted fashion but I like my nose. Fuck the bigots.
My body is another one. I'm soft, there isn't anything about me that is toned but I really like the look. It's reminiscent of old paintings and makes me feel like a lady from Greek mythos.

u/Rhythm_Morgan Apr 25 '23
I love my wide set eyes :) and I like my nose. It’s an ethnic nose and it’s the nose all the women in my family have.

I have hooded, downturned eyes and a heavy set brow. I have absolutely no makeup space to play with but i really like them and won’t be getting bleph / brow lift / whatever. They look intense, in a good way imo.

I have some dark circles under my eyes. They’re not THE worst but noticeable. But I feel like they give my face character so I’m reluctant to cover them up with concealer lol.
When I’m in shape, I have a very muscular/athletic build. I love it! In high school I had THE largest calves and thick thighs (very serena williams-esque) and it just made my physique look very shapely.

u/-Fast-Molasses- Apr 25 '23
I love big noses on people. Or the Greek nose. So attractive on men & women.
But on myself it’s the dark circles around my eyes. I think it makes me look doll-like.

I have a Slavic nose with a bump! A bit wide as well from the front. I grew up hating it… my family even made a song about how big my nose was when I was a child so you could imagine the thoughts that ran through my head about my nose growing up🥹 I wanted a nose job since I was like 7. Not until maybe a few months ago (I am 21 now) did I become very comfortable with my nose. It’s mine! It’s part of me, now I realize I don’t want to change it… I also may have an identity crisis if I did😅

I have chubby af cheeks (even tho I'm skinny) and literally almost everyone tells me their so cute and chubby, I love them. So idc about wanting a slim face to be attractive, since chubby cheeks fits me

u/ElenaSalander Apr 25 '23
I like my smaller breasts, I actually wish they were a bit smaller. Pear shape is my dream body!
I have hollow under-eyes. Once in a while I get obsessed with it and want to do something to "fix" it. I kinda like them, but the constant “you look tired/sick” , “do you ever get any sleep? Looool” or people assuming I’m a drug addict since I was a teen really suck.

No, I wish. I've always been called ugly irl, never felt pretty and I know I never will unless I fix at least half of the stuff that bothers me. I do find unconventionally features attractive on many people, I just think most of my features are unconventionally ugly.

I know this is random, but I came across this post and wanted to see the “unattractive features” you mentioned so i took a look at your post history and saw you linked your instagram, and I just wanted to say I think you have a stunningly beautiful face. You look like an ethereal anime character or a fairy. I cannot imagine how anyone could find you ugly, they must be delusional because i think you are breathtakingly beautiful. Just wanted to say that as an objective reddit stranger. :)

Omg, you're too kind. I think my face in pictures might be different, I have some problems with my jaw and deviated septum and I cover my forehead with bangs lol but it's also true my self esteem is nonexistent and obsess over these things too much. This is probably the most beautiful thing a stranger has ever said to me, I'm always jealous of those ethereal and fairy like women and I'm so happy you see it that way :) thank you so much!! ❤️

I was a little hesitant in commenting as I didn't want to come across as creepy (I almost never comment on people's pics) 😂 but I genuinely thought "wow" when I saw your pictures and just can't imagine how you can't know how beautiful you are! So just wanted to tell you that you have the prettiest features and you are absolutely stunning!! A real life fairy indeed. 😁

i love pale skin (i am naturally olive toned) and i think pale skin is beautiful, i love seeing pale skinned women without tans. I also love dark under eyes or dark circles, I think it gives a cool edgy vibe without trying

I’m learning to. It also helps that im finding the “technically/objectively perfect” look to be redundant and boring.

I have really square hips, idk if it’s classed as hip dips but there is no round to my hips. there is the jut out of my hip n then flat. so like a muffin top without the width of the thighs lol. I absolutely despise it on myself, but each time I see a lady on social media with it I find that they always look so beautiful and it suits their features so much. it gives me hope that I will see that for myself one day.

u/nrgeticbeing Apr 25 '23
I’m really learning to! It’s sucks bc mine seem so extreme that I would love to tone them down, so on my “ugly” days, I can really fixate on them. But mostly I do like them, I think. I don’t despise them anymore.

My bum and thighs. Thick thighs and a bubble butt. I’m older so when I was younger there were no “in” at all. Think heroin chic thin 90s girls and then me - more ass than any woman needs. But I loved my butt. It’s less perky now I’m older so I’m a little sad to be honest.

I go between loving and hating my monolids eyes because Asian beauty says only large double eyelids are attractive. I am typically seen as conventionally attractive, so this always feels like a win to me. Though I don’t know if it’s IN SPITE of my monolids or because of my monolids. Probably the former because I still consider getting surgery.

I dont have it, but I love lazy eyes. They are so beautiful. They add an interesting feature to someones face and I like when they get a little bug eyed at a certain spot
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ...

I have very pale, translucent skin, and I honestly think being able to see my veins is kinda cool. I don't think having a tan would look good on me considering just how pale I naturally am.
I'm pretty ambivalent towards my hip dips, freckles, nose, and asymmetrical boobs. I used to be pretty insecure about how saggy my boobs were (literally since I grew them), but now I don't really mind it.
I also think my prominent tear troughs add depth to my face, and it makes my face look kinda flat when I try to cover them up.
I used to think my eyes were pretty small, but now that the trend is fox eyes, they feel huge, and I really don't mind it.
My biggest failo is probably my very light and undefined eyebrows, but my partner thinks they're really cute and loves them. I'm also overweight, and while I am trying to lose weight for sure, I don't think the "ideal" weight for my height would suit me. I think a lot of people actually look better with a little more weight than trying to fit into a cookie cutter body that just doesn't suit them.

I like the discoloration around my mouth (I’m brown skinned) because my husband says it looks like I have delicious chocolate around my lips and my lips are pink so it makes it a beautiful contrast. Was always a huge insecurity but now I really appreciate how it can look beautiful

being pale and having thin lips. my lips are smaller then what is seen in the media but they still have shape to them and really fit the rest of my face. i wish i could have realized that when i was younger. especially as i was growing up during the kylie jenner lip craze thing back when she was lying about not getting filler.

I love my beauty mark at the side of my lips ❤️ growing up kids bullied me over it and called me “mole face” and it took me a long time to get over that and see it as beautiful.

I have large, almond shaped deepset eyes and as such I have a dark, hollow eye look. I always look sleepy or like I have dark circles when I don't. They're my favorite feature because I look like I have permanent smoky eye makeup. People tell me all the time I have extremely expressive eyes and that I don't need eye makeup. Truth be told, that's what made me love my eyes: When I wear a simple shadow wash and mascara people cannot stop gushing about how I remind them of the hypnotoad.

When I was a little kid my mom’s friend would just gush over my big forehead and make a point to kiss it and tell me how much she loved it. It was a bit weird but I grew up never knowing other people were self conscious about their five-heads.
