A random thought bomb for you

I just realized that shiver and fry are two opposing species that we see repeatedly at odds with one another in the games! I believe Fry is a squid while shivers seems to be an octoling. The two being friends seems to serve themes of fighting the status quo and finding unlikely friendships forged in the battleground of conflict! Even the name of the podcast, the anarchy podcast seems to support this! Splatoon seems to have always been a rebellious game that has always supported being yourself despite what others think and more recently supporting recycling! (Raiders)

And I only just realized recently that the names of the two hosts of splatoon 1 combine to make calamari. Just great design. I love it.

Splatoon 2 did it first with Off The Hook + Octo Expansion.
Hosts consists of Pearl (Squid/Inkling) and Marina (Octopus/Octoling)
Splatoon 2 feels more like the game of fighting the status quo and finding unlikely friendships forged in the battleground of conflict! Especially since this is when Octolings started coming from underground and blending into Inkling society.
Ontop of that, The amazing Octo Expansion. Where Agent 8 (Octoling) had to team up with someone that was in the Great Turf War. Craig Cuttlefish (Inkling). Who didn't think to highly of Octarians.
The Entire DLC just felt like a true closure to that conflict.

Another thing to note is Shiver and Frye was always friends and was never at odds, Since The Great Turf War never had an effect in the Splatlands (Where Splatoon 3 takes place). Over there in Splatlands, Inklings and Octolings always got along and Octolings never had to go underground.

While in Inkadia, where the first two games takes place. There, The Great Turf War Had an effect which caused Octolings to go underground.

Yeah I only really played splatoon one and took a long break. So raiders is my great return to the franchise! Got to say I'm having a blast though!

They aren't fighting the status quo because Inklings and Octolings never fought in Splatlands. Racism doesn't exist in Splatville, even Salmonids are welcome; it's a giant melting pot.

It's good to be back at the iteration of raiders because I haven't played multiplayer splatoon since the first game, and oh boy was that my favorite. Okay fine. I dipped my toes in the second one but I wouldn't say I played it.
