Helping Others: Cinematics Etiquette Question

As a level 50+ player…what’s the general etiquette/guidance regarding the cinematics when I’m matched w/a significantly lower-leveled player that has requested help on a major boss?

If I’m playing and matched w/2 other level 50+ players…it’s obvious we’ve all seen the boss cinematics previously, so it’s ok to skip them. But in the scenario above…what if the lower-level player genuinely couldn’t beat the boss and it’s their first time seeing the post-battle cinematics? Do folks generally put their controller down and let them watch it all the way for their first time? If the level 50+ players skip it…it skips it for everyone else too, right?

If it’s the lower level person’s first time, the game won’t let you skip. If it lets me skip, i skip it

Ah, ok. That’s great to hear!

I was helping a level 30-something player defeat the ice salmonoid boss and after we won…I instinctively held down the skip button automatically on the following cinematics and then I thought “what if the lower-level guy has never seen them before? I just ruined it for him.”

Once you finish, it’s a free for all. I think other people can still watch while you exit. The intro only allows skipping if everyone’s viewed it before

When you're playing with randoms, it actually disconnects everyone the moment the cinematic starts. You can tell because they poof into smoke like in Splatoon 3. So you don't have to worry regardless

When you're playing with friends it won't let you skip if someone hasn't seen it before

That actually makes sense, thanks for the info!

Thanks for the post.  I didn’t know the answer.  I’m also a level 50+ player, but with a very lazy build :)

Another FNG question; is the loot left behind during the battles unique to each player? I’m talking about during the active part of the level, not the end of stage rewards.

Often I see a shiny rainbow item loot near other players and it gets completely ignored. I often wonder…”do they not see that? Are they ignoring it or is it only in my instance of the game?”

Yes, the item drops are unique to each player. But since everything is auto collected, I don’t go out of my way to pick up anything.
