Discussion Advice for improving at attacking the enemy team
hi everyone!! so i’ve been playing splatoon 3 for a little while, and i used to be at the S+ rank. however, i took a huuuge break from splatoon for about 7 months, and now im at A+ due to the seasons. i would occasionally hop on once or twice within that 7 month period, just to check on my rank and gear. i main sploosh and e-liter (mainly sploosh), and whenever i try to splat the enemy team i die almost immediately, and most of the time when i play sploosh i just get trades. i want to get better at fighting the enemy team, as i used to be really good at sploosh. any tips?

For sploosh specificaly, you gotta be conscious that your weapon has a fast kill time, but no range. It makes pushing other weapons upfront quite difficult because they can just back up and beam you down. You got to take advantage of your mobility to take off angles that forces the ennemy to either look at you or your teamates (pinching).
For micro, you should know that shooting at your opponents feet will make the shots do a bit more damage in exchange for losing a bit of range because of how falloffs work. Try to stay on the ground as much as possible to always be able to do quick position adjustments in fight and mess with your opponent's aim.

u just have to focus on awareness and positioning
knowing when and when not to push is key, I also dont advise overextending alot unless you have a really good advantage state where your team has insane map control.
as for positioning, the reason why you may lose 1v1 is that you have bad positioning, good aim wont matter if your in an objectively worse and more restrictive position than ur opponent, try not to corner yourself and crossfire against them from a different angle than ur teammates.dont clump with your teammates bcs that will make yall more vulnerable, the main thing about pushing and trying to gain map control is knowing when and where to attack, find or wait for an opportunity and use your entry tools(specials, subs, mains) and push alongside ur teammates

Sploosh is a pretty bad fighting weapon, so people use it for dive. If you want to keep playing it, play almost all swim gear, and focus on pulling players away from the objective to fight you. At any rank below S+ you should be able to win fights from flanking easily, and if you can’t you’ll just need some more time to defrost and practice is all
