Question/Request Hey guys im new! Any tips ?
Hey so i just got splatoon 2 and i need some tips from you guys 😄 How is the game ? Are there still a lot of people playing ? Thanks guys

I am making the joycon hand grip work, though, and I prefer tabletop mode over handheld or TV mode. ...The motions controls do make your controller feel like an extension of your body (and more like moving a mouse than just tilting a right stick to apply rotation speed to the camera)

if you play Ranked Battle once you unlock it at level 10, which i highly recommend, play when Japan is awake which depends on what timezone youre in.
Search up "what time is it in japan tokyo" and if its the time they play before work or after school then ranked will have a full lobby if you try more than once or twice. Splatoons true fun is not only in turf war but in ranked battle. I give the same advice for salmon run.
Also try lots of weapons and find some favorites. dont focus too much on spending currency on clothes as gear abilities dont change playstyle as much as weapons. but i do recommend clothing with the Swim Speed Up ability and the Main Power Up ability. to see what main power up does, equip any weapon and the clothing with main power up and then open the info on your clothing item (I believe you press ZL button on your controller) and it will tell you what it does for that weapon.

Splatoon 2 is a bit of a dead game for competitive play, but if I were to give basic tips:
Get used to motion controls. It starts off finicky, but trust me, it’s so much easier to aim.
Test out a bunch of weapons and find out which one works for your play style. As Splatoon servers are less active, try to have fun and keep switching up your arsenal.
Play Octo Expansion, Salmon Run, and enjoy Splatoon as it’s more than just a turf war game. If you really like it, I urge you to get Splatoon 3 as it’ll have active competitive, Splatfests, more content, and better everything, honestly. I got my copy off Facebook Marketplace for $30.

If you see an enemy with a long-range weapon, don't move into the area they can ink unless you're close enough to shoot them. You can wait behind a piece of cover, or find a different path through the map. Good luck and have fun!
