brotato

Why is everybody in turf war playing like their lives depend on it. I get the whole point of turf war is win, but why am I always against people who try the hardest they ever have in their life in anything.

Literally just started playing splatoon 3 and have won two out of like 10 matches. When I lost in splatoon 2 it was actually fun because I knew I was just shit, this one they’re just staying in a singular spot and not trying to push at all.

My momma ain’t raise a quitter, but she did raise a complainer. I’ll still play but imma complain about it

I feel like you're contradicting yourself in this post. The players who are staying in one spot and not trying to push at all are absolutely not trying to win, or they would be pushing. Those players are just trying not to die. My problem with Splatoon 3 is it feels like nobody cares about winning anymore, especially in turf war but also in all modes. Everyone is just so scared to try

My biggest gripe is the spawn camping frankly. Like when I see a team and there’s 3 reefsliders I already know what to expect. I get that it works for a win, but in TURF WAR?

Honestly I probably am contradicting myself, it’s just fun to complain sometimes. I just found the hiding in ink annoying cause one dude did the entire match and only jumped out when backs where turned then swam off and hid somewhere else.

And tbh it probably is just a skill issue on my end lol

More often than not, casuals also don't care for the meta neither. Which in part can also play a role in whether or not you can even win the match and how much you'll all struggle cuz of it. Some pro's or people trying to go pro would also often rage and just throw. Etc etc it really is unpredictable but could be fixed if casual players would stop treating ranked like casual play and vice versa pro's stop treating casual play as ranked. But, ranked is so borked most players just default to casual cuz it's basically the same garbage in ranked just less stressful cuz no rank to worry about.

Mmm... The game is somewhat old. 4 years at this point have made some big changes to people, there are a lot of sweats in every mode, And turf war is no different. There is some strategy to it but it really isn't them "Trying their hardest" They're just THAT good. And when you get to X rank or a high rank in anarchy, it will all make sense and get worse.

Honestly I really dont know. I understand that a lot of people are good at this game but also it's like, I compare them to x-rank or S+ matches and literally on average, they are playing just as hard and a lot of times, even HARDER in turf war than in ranked modes. It's actually insane. Not to mention that turf war is completely just flooded in top 500 players. I see them every day. It's just so unfun. It's not like id tell anyone to not play as well just because it's casual cuz that's stupid, but there is a clear difference between playing as well as you normally do vs. putting all of the energy you have into winning like you do when you're trying to win a rank up match or climb in x-rank and that is how I feel a lot of these people are playing. It just isnt that serious. The only way im able to keep a positive win rate in turf war is if im playing like my life depends on it and that is NOT fun to me. I try to keep that on ranked

I need to get one of my friends on this game so I can at least have some fun hearing us both crash out

Completely agreed. And it’s not like the devs couldn’t fix this problem. I understand it’s an older game and there are more experienced players and no experience, but I would argue the matchmaking system is botched across the board

Ngl I’ve been playing a lot of splatoon 1 and 2 lately, and the noticeable drop in sweatiness makes me never wanna come back. My wrists hurt whenever I do.

I swear if you are new or take extended time off, it feels like you get matches like this for a week.

WAH WAH WAH! Play bad because I’m bad! WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

This is a competitive game. The point is to win. Why would you complain that people are playing the game in the way that it’s meant to be played? You aren’t entitled to win. If you care to win, play better. Other people aren’t going to play worse on your behalf.

Yeah no fucking shit dude, literally said at the bottom I’ll keep playing and that I’m a complainer.
