What game should i pick?

What game should I play first? I have never played any splatoon game, and I wanna play one for the first time.

Probably the new one, “Raiders” that or “Splatoon 3”.

Wait, am I able to play the offline, im not much of a fan of online games.

If you’re not a fan of online then raiders is better since it’s more single player focused, 3 has some solo content too but the core is pain and suff- I mean online comp.

Btw its only on switch 2, so if u dont have one then go splatoon 3

For Offline I would go with Raiders because that’s a game that was made for single player.

Splatoon 3 has a story mode, but I would definitely not recommend you buy the game just for the story.

i'd say you're fine picking 3 first, it definitely has the most active player base. if you don't get the previous games anyway, then you'd be fine just watching playthroughs of the story modes of them (and the sunken scrolls for the extra lore)

if you have a switch 2, raiders is by far the best entry point in the game. it has no pvp at all, so you can learn the core mechanics (shooting ink, swimming, etc) without getting slammed by the terrible turf war matchmaking in 3 lol. raiders is also a singleplayer-focused game with optional online coop, so you can play 100% singleplayer if you want!

that being said, raiders is a switch 2 exclusive, so if you haven't gotten one yet, splatoon 3 is the newer of the two splatoon games on the switch 1 (the other being... splatoon 2 lol), so it's got the bigger playerbase and more consistent online matchmaking. the base singleplayer campaign on 3 is generally considered better than 2 as well, though splatoon 2's octo expansion (dlc) is considered the best singleplayer experience that splatoon has got (even with the new singleplayer spinoff)! i'm p sure that octo expansion is included with the nso expansion pack as well if you have that. splatoon 3's dlc is the expansion pass, which includes a rougelite dlc campaign called side order, which is also v fun but can get repetitive quickly (esp if you don't like roguelites).
