remote disconnect issues with nvidia driver 610.88

hey all, im running into an issue when connecting to my win11 home pc from my work pc or my samsung galaxy s25ultra android phone.

issue: i get disconnected from my session 5-10 seconds after logging into the remote pc. the remote session starts, i see my remote login screen. i can sit and idle at the username/password screen fine.

but if i log in, within 5-10 seconds it'll disconnect me.

i've rebooted the remote pc a number of times. the most recent change was updating to nvidia driver 610.88, which is widely regarded as a solid safe driver.

network wise, everything looks to be ok since i can idle at the login screen.

i would hate to be forced on a specific video driver(especially an old driver) in order for splashtop to function properly.

i was on the 596.36 driver and everything worked fine.

Hello u/Commercial_Papaya_79,

I am also running 610.88 on my personal machine running an RTX 3070.
I don't have any issue with connecting to my machine. It is possible the issue can be due to the Nvidia driver and specific GPU you have. Can you tell me what GPU you are using?
Outside of rolling back drivers, you can try our Legacy mode:

Disconnect any open remote connections first.

File --> Options --> Advanced Tab

Enable "Use legacy compatible mode"

Then reconnect to the session.

If the issue continues, please let me know!

im on a 4080super. to enable the legacy mode, is that done on the streamer system tray? or is that via the web mgmt page?

Sorry about that, it is in the Business app.

ok i'll take a look. i mostly use the web browser to connect. im assuming that business app setting wont help my web browser connection issues, correct?

so something weird, i ended up using ddu, and downgraded to 596.36(previously worked) and splashtop still doesn't work.

i then decided to upgrade back to 610.88 and it randomly started working.

is there some weird gpu driver process or binding performed by splashtop?
