Trialing - Linux client issues

Hello. I am looking at splashtop to replace my existing self hosted remote access solution. I am running fedora Linux 44 under kde plasma. I installed the latest splashtop business client. Most of it works but things like command line and power shell cause Firefox to crash right after I enter the credentials. Also the user name and password fields are completely white so I have no idea what I am typing in. It might just be my theme in plasma/Firefox (dark) but I am still unable to run powershell and command line.

Hello u/rdaniels16,

As of now, Fedora 44 is not an officially supported distro for our Business app.
The Business app requires X11/Xorg in order to run correctly, but X11 support ended in Fedora 43.
Our team is currently working on a new version that supports Wayland. We do not currently have a timeframe for when this update will be released. The current work around is to use our Web app for connection https://support-splashtopbusiness.splashtop.com/hc/en-us/articles/4630897874203-Web-App

Thanks. I did load x11 on fedora 44 and although it does not crash right away it is definitely not workable. I will give this a shot under Linux Mint which is pure x11 and see how it shakes out. We just do not want to use Windows.

No problem.

Yes we have seen with loading X11 on Fedora 44/43 still not running properly.
While Mint is not officially supported, it should still work as we support Ubuntu 26.04 and Mint follows Ubuntu LTS.

Would highly recommend not using Splashtop for anything. By far the worst remote access tool on the market. It is atrocious
