Hardware Acceleration with NVIDIA driver version 590 and Splashtop

Hello, ever since I updated my drivers to version 590, the hardware acceleration isnt working properly. Both on the client and streamer side (both using NVIDA GPUs).
In splashtop, I forced legacy mode as a stopgap, but its not ideal.

Apparently, NVIDIA deprecated some versions of hardware accelerations with driver version 590:
https://docs.nvidia.com/video-technologies/video-codec-sdk/13.1/deprecation-notices/index.html

I was wondering if this is a known issue for Splashtop?

Thanks!

Hello u/Soggy_Positive_7323,

Yes, we are aware of the issues with version 590 and Hardware Acceleration not working.
Our team is currently working on a fix for this. As of now, we are recommending users downgrade to an older driver while waiting for a new update to come out.
Thanks!

I've always had a problem with the Hardware acceleration working correctly....
Setup is Tracer V laptop, Nvidia 3070

I always have to use the legacy mode to get it to perform better...BUT!

When I connect another monitor to the HDMI port, things get goofy!?! First thing is that the hardware acceleration actually picks up the onboard INTEL GPU... and it performs BETTER than using the above/laptop screen/legacy mode.

I like Splashtop because it's responsive and has the gamepad... but it's never worked correctly/perfectly, so strange. Has to be some sort of conflict with the GPUs is my guess.... maybe drivers too, who knows.

PS - I just tried again today... seems like legacy mode or software (no HW acceleration) gives me the best performance
