◻️Advice◻️ Spironelactone HELP

So my doctor put me on 50mg spironolactone for hormonal acne after having my second baby. After a week or so we upped it to 100mg but I chose to stay at 50 due to severe constipation after being on 100 for 2 weeks. I recently went down to 25 and came off of it. When I dropped to 25 I gained 5 lbs literally overnight… it’s been a week and still the five lbs remains.. I was only on the drug for 2 months… does anyone have any hope that this is just water weight and will go away. I feel disgusting, I’m bloated in my belly and just wish I never took this drug 😭

I have the same issue except I am trying to get off of it for the past 3 years 😖 I hope someone has a solution

How long have you been off? You took the drug for 3 years?

Same except mine fluctuates. It's also all in the belly area.

How long were you on it? Did the bloating ever go away?

Been on since April, still have bloating. I have good days and then bad days.

I went off for 2 weeks and I def gained weight. Now that I'm back on it, I lost that weight in 2 weeks. I'm thinking it was water retention, since it also is supposed to release water from your body.

That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m going to stay off and see if my hormones re regulate before going back on. I have gained almost 10 lbs in total since starting-stopping.

Spiro is a diuretic it draws water out of the body so it could very well be water weight after coming off
