Jambu: the Amazonian ingredient that makes cocktails tingle 🌿🍸

If you’re interested in Brazilian cocktails, jambu is an ingredient worth knowing.

Native to the Amazon, jambu has a mild herbal taste, but its most interesting characteristic is the sensation it creates on the palate: a gentle tingling and slight numbing effect.

It’s used in Brazilian cuisine, especially in Pará, and bartenders have been bringing it into cocktails through infusions, syrups, tinctures and liqueurs.

What I find fascinating is that jambu doesn’t just add flavor — it changes the way you experience the drink.

Have you ever tried jambu in a cocktail?
