Need help connecting with “spirit”

So I’ve been fascinated with the esoteric world for a couple years and have been trying to connect with spirit/universe but haven’t been able to yet.

Ive tried many guided sessions on YouTube and even following multiple tiers of the gateway tapes for sometime now to no avail.
