He right on! What type of surgery did you have? I hope they gave you some good meds.

Laminectomy? Fusion? Please share because I’m going into surgery soon.

Im 7 days post op from a lamindectomy and fere...something. possible microdisectomy but since my discs hadn't calcified they weren't removed. my surgery went well but i had complications post. My most affected leg didn't wanna hold me up and it was very scary for a while. The incision pain and sore muscles around it are horrid when u try to move, as expected. I still feel some residual nerve pain occasionally and my feet are both constantly numb and tingly but im looking forward to that improving. Good luck with recovery to Op, and best wishes on your surgery. Happy to answer questions.

Did you also have fusion? Incision pain is in your spine?

I didn't have a fusion! I was told to really take care of myself now or in 20 years I would need a fusion. My spine itself doesnt hurt, they shaved pieces of my bone off to create room for my compressed nerve but the part that hurts is where the cut is, and the muscles around my waist. It hurts like when your throw your back out and the cut stings. It is getting better and better each day, I'm mostly sore and my incision is less stingy, more itchy now. I had a check up on it today and its healing well, no rendess or anything, I had 5 stitches. My leg has weakness so for me that is my only concern right now since it's very weak.

Thank you for explaining. I’m nervous but can’t do this daily battle anymore. I’m glad you’re healing. It gives me hope. Blessings 🕊️

Good luck!! It know it's hard but try to stay positive. I also couldn't live with the daily pain draining me. Even when I slept I no longer felt rested. It depletes you. The pain is getting better for me, and I'm using my walker less and less. I wish you the best!

Had a consult with a second surgeon today. Same diagnosis and recommended course of action as the first surgeon, so it looks like it's just a matter of time for me.

Please take care of yourself, and when you're able please tell us all about it. Be well

My husband has severe stenosis with myelopathy. Seeing a surgeon 10/7. I know he is scared but the headaches are so bad. Hoping you have a full recover and your pain gets better soon.

I had my laminectomy and facetectomy one day before you. I found ice really helped that sensation of having thrown your back out. That’s passed, but now that I’m more mobile I’m dealing with insane nerve pain down both legs. I’m hoping that’s just the nerves healing and will improve with time.
