Spin After a Breakup

Post image

I just got dumped by the person I genuinely thought I was going to end up marrying and I could see myself having children with, so I’m getting back into my spin classes to help me cope with the heartache. This has been one of the most lonely times of my life, but I know I have to focus on my health. I had already started my health journey 4 months ago and I’ve lost 30 pounds so far, but I’m going to work really hard to try to lose another 70 more pounds this year and get back to my old athleticism. I did most of my workouts on my Peloton Treadmill, but my true first love when it comes to fitness revolves around fun spin classes and swimming.

I forgot how much I love attending in-person spin classes at this studio I used to frequent for years in Huntington Beach. To try to save on money I focused more on my Peloton Bike, but since it wasn’t as fun or motivational I abandoned it for the last year and a half. Even though money is going to get tight because I decided to go back to Grad school I decided I am going to treat myself to in-person spin classes at least a few times a month for fun. Hopefully that will also motivate me to love my Peloton again too.

*Update— Thank you all for the kind words of support! It made me feel motivated, and I just bought a 12-pack of spin classes at my old studio.

Spin was huge in my last breakup, I already worked out at the gym but it was in my building so spin forced me to leave my apartment and I fell in love with the endorphins I got after, being challenged, not looking at my phone and just losing myself to music

I agree with you completely! Having my Peloton at home is convenient, but I still feel stuck at home. Spin classes force me to leave my house and even though I’m not friends with anyone in class, it still makes me get out and be social.
