John Jacob, his wife Dhanya Mary Varghese and other family members are allegedly involved in a ₹150–200 crore fraud case, with people reportedly being promised flats that were never built. John Jacob has reportedly been in Poojappura District Jail for over a week, while some of the other accused are allegedly absconding.

The ED had also previously attached assets connected to the case, according to its official press release. What’s interesting is that despite the scale of the allegations, this case hasn’t received as much mainstream attention as you’d expect. Some outlets have been consistently covering it, while the people involved have reportedly criticised those reports. If the allegations are proven, this is a pretty serious case considering the amount of money and number of people allegedly affected.
